  • Nice and relaxing stay

"We rented this farm house last wkend , it was very nice and peaceful and the views were great and the porch was a great place to sit and also had a great view and since the porch was screened it the bugs stayed out! Unfortunately there happened to be many stink bugs in the house, more then we expected even though it was out in the country side. It was very spacious and comfortable, we enjoyed sitting by the river with the fire pit going. The beds were really comfortable and you could see great views out the window and the owners where VERY nice, the only thing we would change is next time we'd like to stay longer."

  • Nature at its Best!

"Impeccable. The comforts of home combined with the feeling of rest & relaxation of the great outdoors. Since this was a weekend visit we appreciated not having to pack all sorts of gear...Cabin is thoughtfully stocked with all that a family could possibly want or need. Hull's Drive In brought back fond memories, as did the drive through Safari Park.Goshen Pass is a must see. Secluded to a point but not too far away for exploring!. Grands paddled up & down the Maury River. We loved that we could sit on the porch & with a view of the water as well as the meadow. Just a little bit of heaven. Every detail was well thought out. This will surely be added to "our favorites" with the hopes that we will return someday soon. Added bonus was that the Bichon's were allowed to accompany us. Thank You, Judy March & Family"

  • A Wonderful Place to Stay!

"My niece was getting married in Luray, VA and we needed a place for various members of the bride's family to stay. Marksville Manor could not have been more perfect. Imagine arriving at a home you have never seen late in the afternoon and hosting the bridal party that night! The party went so smoothly because the house is outfitted with everything you could possibly need (including the kitchen). Joanie's Pound Cake, a beautiful gift basket (with everything for Smores) and cheese from a local market were waiting in the kitchen. Corn hole boards for outdoor fun were stashed by the side of the house. There was ample parking and the chairs on the front porch were so inviting. The house was very clean and the beds comfortable. We are already looking for an opportunity to return! This is a gem of a place!"

  • We have started a new tradition!

"Exactly as promised! The Nut House was wonderful!!! We live in NC and my in-laws live in NYC, this was our happy median. The house had everything we needed. I love to cook and found everything I could ever need for my culinary creations. I was in bowl heaven! Bowls in every color and size imaginable. The house was super clean and well arranged. If you are blessed with sun on the day you arrive brace yourself to be greeted by an amazingly bright, beautiful and open home. The little one (under 2) loved the space and had her run of the house. She was fascinated by the huge wall to wall windows. My very hard to please mother-in-law loved everything and was pleased that it was so well stocked. I love the multiple seating areas that allowed me to breakoff and enjoy some 1:1 time with my sister-in-law without the boys w/ plenty of wine. The hot tub was great ( I recommend you turn the heat up at least an hour before you plan on using it). My personal haven was the deck – perfect for my morning coffee and my late night tea – the brook behind the house was an extra perk. We had plenty of bedding and extras in the closet. I do recommend some extra towels if you plan on using the hot tub we forgot ours and had to run an extra load. This was our first of many trips to the Nut House. We have started a new tradition! -- The only issue (really a non-issue) was that only the upper left side of the grill was hot enough to cook on – but we made it work and enjoyed some amazing ribeye’s (in shifts). We had an amazing, stress free and very relaxed weekend!!! The owner is wonderful to work with. -- Thank You!!"
