Great place to relax while enjoying all the house has to offer!
"We had a wonderful weekend at the schoolhouse. It is absolutely beautiful. There was plenty of space to spread out and a great common room to hang out together for a game of pool or cards. The yard was amazing for a game of badminton and volleyball. We were able to sit on the porch while the dogs enjoyed the yard. The one watch-out for us - no cell service if you have Verizon or Sprint, not sure about other providers. We often spend time in the Lexington area and plan on staying in the Schoolhouse again!"

"As previously stated by others, Windymile offers peace & quiet + fabulous views.
Close enough to town yet far enough out to forget about the real world.
We used it as our home base while attending the Greenbrier Classic in W.V.
The amenities in cabin were spot on; kitchen is nicely outfitted with all you need to prepare your meals. Clean, comfortable and did I mention the views? Amazing.
Thank you David for sharing your slice of paradise with us."

"We stayed here with friends for a 3 day college reunion. I hate motels and their crowds, thus Rose Hill was a pleasant alternative, only 4 miles from Lexington's city limits. You will be thoroughly briefed on how to find the house and how to respect its idiosyncracies. Nonetheless I would recommend you first arrive before dark. A 5 minute slow speed drive from Rt 11 will bring you to the house and you may see wild turkeys and deer enroute. There are notes posted everywhere to help make the house work for you. Having lived in an historic residence for 30 years, I appreciated their being there. The kitchen is modernized, making in house breakfasts a breeze. I entertained 25 classmates and family in a spacious gallery with a stunning view of the surrounding countryside. My guests were wow'ed. The bedrooms are upstairs; there is one bathroom upstairs, one downstairs. For family this is a none issue; otherwise, don't forget to pack a robe. If you're adventurous and appreciate sampling historic residences, you will enjoy your stay at Rose Hill."

"This house very good for my large family. We are 15 people, adults and children of all ages. We found the web site was an accurate description of Willow Haven. The floor plan allowed space for various activities at once. The kitchen was big enough for cooking and serving dinners. The one cupboard door needs correct repair. Its hinges are incorrectly aligned with the door opening. Other than that, the storage and refrigerator were ample. The bedrooms were comfortable.
The house and setting are charming. My daughter in law exclaimed in delight at the setting and house as we first drove up. The creek was fun to watch. The girls beat the boys at the number of fish caught.
Now to my complaint. We managed but another family might have been most upset. The bathtub adjoining the VMI and W&L rooms leaked badly; as per the sign on the bathtub the shower hose was not used. So it must be the bathtub plumbing that is leaking. It would also be good to have another shower on the Willow side of the house. One shower is not enough for our family.
Despite this one problem, I would rent the house again. Our family enjoyed their stay"
