"The McDowell House was the perfect place for my family to stay while visiting Lexington for Thanksgiving. The house is incredibly spacious, with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a well-appointed kitchen. It was great to gather in the sitting room or around the dining room table, but was also really easy to sneak off to a secluded comfy chair to read or look at art. The architectural and historical character of the house itself is very impressive, even for Lexington. Finally, the location could not be better for just walking out the front door and taking advantage of all Lexington has to offer--the universities, shops, and restaurants."

"This house very good for my large family. We are 15 people, adults and children of all ages. We found the web site was an accurate description of Willow Haven. The floor plan allowed space for various activities at once. The kitchen was big enough for cooking and serving dinners. The one cupboard door needs correct repair. Its hinges are incorrectly aligned with the door opening. Other than that, the storage and refrigerator were ample. The bedrooms were comfortable.
The house and setting are charming. My daughter in law exclaimed in delight at the setting and house as we first drove up. The creek was fun to watch. The girls beat the boys at the number of fish caught.
Now to my complaint. We managed but another family might have been most upset. The bathtub adjoining the VMI and W&L rooms leaked badly; as per the sign on the bathtub the shower hose was not used. So it must be the bathtub plumbing that is leaking. It would also be good to have another shower on the Willow side of the house. One shower is not enough for our family.
Despite this one problem, I would rent the house again. Our family enjoyed their stay"

"My husband and I were attending a wedding in Lexington and wanted to bring our dogs with us. This apartment was perfect! I'm a W&L Law Alum, so in addition to the wedding, I was looking forward to taking my husband around town and campus to see how lovely Lex is. The location is wonderful and very walkable. The apartment itself was lovely: light and airy, well appointed, comfy bed, beautiful bathroom with a great shower. Having the fenced in yard was great for our doggies.
Lawrence was a wonderful host. He helped us check in and lent us a can opener when we needed one for the dogs' food. We didn't need too much advice about where to go, but I could tell that he had a wealth of good information for first time Lex visitors. I was slightly worried about staying in someone's basement, but he was there if we needed him and unobtrusive when we didn't. All in all, I would recommend this place highly!"

"We had a great visit at Lazy Acres Cabin. It was very private and the hostess Amanda was welcoming and hospitable! Great place for a family trip! We really enjoyed the views from the back porch and appreciated the clean cabin. We hope to return soon!"
