  • Clean, comfortable, beautiful

"We have stayed at the Schoolhouse twice now, and both times it has been great. It's super-clean (enough to make you jealous), and comfortable, and it has everything we needed (and more: the pool table is great.) We're a big group-- babies, kids, grownups, night owls and early birds, and it worked perfectly for us. It's an incredibly pretty spot-- you could just drive around all day and marvel at the mountains. We even did a (freezing!) New Year's polar bear swim in the river. We plan on going there again, for sure."

  • The best in Lexington!

"The McDowell House was the perfect place for my family to stay while visiting Lexington for Thanksgiving. The house is incredibly spacious, with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a well-appointed kitchen. It was great to gather in the sitting room or around the dining room table, but was also really easy to sneak off to a secluded comfy chair to read or look at art. The architectural and historical character of the house itself is very impressive, even for Lexington. Finally, the location could not be better for just walking out the front door and taking advantage of all Lexington has to offer--the universities, shops, and restaurants."

  • Wonderful Family Easter

"The Rosehill home is a truly magnificent home and property. While only a short drive from downtown Lexington, you are treated to gorgeous country views and feel. The home itself is well maintained, and the addition which includes an updated and beautiful kitchen and sun porch make the home incredibly functional as well. The owners attention to detail is superb and you will see that reflected in the cleanliness of the home, well stocked kitchen, and instructions thoughout the house. The working farm and livestock surrounding the property add to the ambiance of being on a country estate. I would certainly recommend the home for anyone with children older than 6 or 7 years old, as the antique decor and back stairwell can be a challenge with smaller children. Overall a wonderful stay and gorgeous home."

  • Fantastic Thanksgiving

"We had one of the most enjoyable family Thanksgivings ever at Buffalo Creek. The property is just as described and the setting is so tranquel and beautiful. Being Thanksgiving there was a lot of kitchen activity and we had everything we needed. With 6 of us we were a bit concerned about the lack of a dishwasher but we all pitched in and it was no issue at all. The owner was a pleasure to work with, very prompt to respond to my multitude of questions and even left fresh, fall flowers on the dining room table and invited us to use her formal china and linens for the holiday feast. We are already wanting to plan our next visit, maybe during a warmer time of year when we can fly fish or maybe even for next Thanksgiving. All of the beds were very comfortable and the way the rooms are situated, they were very quiet. We were able to bring our dogs too and it was such a pleasure to let them out and not worry about them, since the yard is completely fenced in. I have nothing negative to say, we loved this farmhouse."
