"What a great place to relax and get away from it all! Very well stocked with whatever you need. We had the best time just relaxing by the river. Even though the river was really low we did manage to kayak a bit. Too bad we couldn't go together but only one kayak paddle. I'm sure it was just an oversight not a big deal. All in all a nice place and would love to go back. First trip with our dog and it was nice. Comment to other dog owners who stay... Clean up after your dogs. Don't leave for the owner or the next guest.
Looking forward to coming back sometime."

"Absolutely beautiful views and a great house. Sitting on the porch watching the sun set below the mountains to the west was breath taking on a perfect day in May. The only sound to be heard was the rocking chair creaking under me.
Drove up the gravel road in a regular sedan and it was no problem at all. If you need a break from hectic, this is the perfect retreat."

"The Nutt House was a great place to spend a weekend getaway with friends. The house is centrally located to many of the amenities of the resort as well as grocery stores and other area attractions. We made sure to enjoy all of the activities in the resort from zip lining, the water park, and horseback riding. We also spent an afternoon in the home grilling out and relaxing on the enclosed deck enjoying the scenery. The driveway was a little nerve wrecking, the lack of cable in the home was also disappointing, and we couldn't get the jacuzzi tub to work but overall we had a very enjoyable stay at the property!! Highly recommended!!!!"

"This past week I spent four days in Mountain Whisper with my 16 year old grandson. He is high functioning asperger. We were quite pleased with our experience. The cabin was an excellent base camp as we fished, took the Luray Cavern tour, hiked, and found isolated areas to teach him how to shoot using my pellet rifle. Shenandoah River Outfitters is just down the hill from the cabin and the variety of their rentals should support most desires to spend time on the river. The cabin was immaculate when we arrived and the kitchen was very well stocked with eating and cooking utensils. It was not what I would have expected in a cabin - the appliances were in excellent condition - well honestly, i don't know if the stove worked because as two guys we didn't cook much indoors, but the microwave and refrigerator were excellent. I have seen several reviews on various sites commenting on the bed being only "full" size. The smaller of the 3 bedrooms has a full size bed but the other beds are definitely queen size. I rate my experience as 5 stars, not because it is the best cabin I have ever stayed in but because the cabin was exactly what my grandson and I needed and it met all expectations based on the various website descriptions.
My grandson was especially happy having civilization (Walmart) relatively close by and he would recommend MIndi's for their chips and salsa.
