  • Just what we needed

"We were looking for a place to retreat from our hectic schedules and civilization and this was the place! It was so quiet we could hear the leaves falling from the trees. There was no one in sight, except for once a day when some man drove his tractor up the road. The view from the deck was magnificient. We chose to stay at the cabin and just read, relax, and be alone. But, there is so much to do in the area if you want to keep busy. We did visit the little town just south of Edinburg and Woodstock the day we left. I was concerned about all the reviews on the steep road. It was a little steep and I did have a little trouble with traction due to the gravel, but, it wasn't all that bad. We have driven up much steeper roads in Pigeon Forge, TN. We loved the signs of encouragement as we drove up the road. The first one assured us that we "were doing fine" and the next one told us that we "were almost there"."

  • November 2013 Stay

"This cabin was way more than we expected. It's got a huge amount of floor space. The kitchen has just about any utensil or cookware item you could possibly need, even a crock pot. We really enjoyed playing with the old-school SNES as well. I may try to book it again in the summer, the river access is very close by. Great value, great location, and responsive, friendly owners."

  • Just as we imagined

"Great location - close to everything downtown, but far enough away to be quiet. Nicely decorated and clean. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook a few meals. Was also nice to have washer/dryer in unit so as not to return home with dirty clothes. Mgmt. was awesome and we were able to check in early upon our arrival and also returned communications promptly. Nothing extraordinary, but everything we needed. Will definitely come back again next time we're in Roanoke!"

  • Quiet, romantic weekend

"My boyfriend and I wanted a weekend away from our busy lives, and this was the perfect spot. The large windows all through the cabin allowed us to enjoy the beautiful property and views even when it was raining and we were inside. The peaceful porches provided wonderful spots for sitting and enjoying the fields and mountain views. The cabin was thoughtfully supplied with games, movies, music, toiletries and pantry items. Although we came prepared with most of our own things, it was nice knowing that if we'd forgotten something we did not need to rush to the store! We had a wonderful weekend, and neither of us wanted to leave on Sunday!"
