"We came up for a weekend of baseball and this house is amazing rustic relaxing. The morning were beautiful with horses everywhere. The kids enjoyed feeding them every morning. The pool was clean and had lots of fun toys. Anita and Colin were awesome they were so nice and helpful. We came from our last game and Colin had setup a fire pit and wood for us to roast marshmallows. Plenty of space for a few families to enjoy this piece of heaven. We had the ball team over to cook out in between games and everyone loved the place!! Can't say enough about Anita and Colin and the whole environment"

"I recently stayed at Gooney lodge and I couldn't say enough good things about this place. It was close enough to DC to not spend hours on the highway, but also remote enough that we felt like we were truly escaping. The lodge is very charming and I loved sitting on the front porch enjoying the sounds of the creek. I would go back any time. It was a wonderful experience to truly unplug for the weekend. No cell service was a blessing!"

"We were travelling back to Williamsburg from Indiana and were looking for something secluded but also close to Luray Caverns and Skyline Drive. We were able to schedule a last minute mini vacation at the cabin and it was everything we were looking for. The owners were very accommodating and the cabin was very comfortable (I couldn't get my grandson off of the very large bean bag chair. We couldn't see or hear anything except for trees and water.
It is a cabin and not a hotel so don't expect perfection as the cabin water did have a sulfur smell but overall it was great place for a vacation. It was well furnished and had the extras to make it comfortable. My grandson was happy that he didn't have to live without the internet or DirecTV in the evenings when we were done touring and canoeing. We hope to return again soon for a longer time period and spend more time relaxing and less touring."

"My friends and i spent a couple nights in one of these cabins. It was a much needed rest and peaceful time to catch up. The cabin was clean, and beautiful. The owner was very accommodating. And sweet. I would love to come again with my husband for a romantic getaway! Absolutely loved our time here."
