"My group of five good friends VERY much enjoyed our stay at this home. The house was absolutely charming. But the outdoor space is what made this house so great for us; both the front yard looks out over rolling hills leading up to a mountain range, while the backyard overlooks the neighbor's cornfield with ANOTHER mountain range in the background! We made liberal use of the brand new deck and outdoor grill. I woke up early both mornings to pour a cup of coffee and sit outside, taking in the majestic views.
Our mid-fall visit was characterized by pleasant temperatures in the mid-50s to low 70s, so we could spend a lot of time outdoors. The fall foliage was in full swing, so the views were even more beautiful. The weekend was a welcome respite from my fast-paced life in the city.
I'd highly recommend this property to anyone - it was easy to get to (right off of I-81) and has nearby amenities (grocery store and gas stations 5 minutes down the road). We were fortunate that our visit coincided with Shenandoah County's AutumnFest, a local festival with food, drinks and arts and crafts.

"Several old college friends met at Shenandoah Stars for 3 nights in Mid-March and we all had a great time. The cabin's location on the bank of the South Fork of the Shenandoah River is phenomenal. The cabin itself was perfect for our trip - very functional for 6 of us. The kitchen was large enough to cook and serve all of our meals (also well stocked with cooking tools). The 3 bedrooms have large comfortable beds with plenty of extra sheets, pillows, and towels. The screened porch with hot tub was quite a treat. We were also thankful for the Satellite TV and Internet during a rainy afternoon. I look forward to returning to Shenandoah Stars again!"

"We have stayed at Serene House twice now and can not imagine a more perfect place to spend time in Shenandoah Valley. Although it is in a community, the houses are situated so you really feel completely private as though you are alone in the woods. Sitting on the large deck looking out at the trees and mountains is just beautiful We appreciate the fully equipped kitchen which is set up perfectly to allow any cooking endeavors you may wish. The house is always spotlessly clean and fresh when we arrive, the linens and towels are wonderful quality, the beds are so comfortable, and sitting by the fire after a day of exploring the area with a book or a glass of wine can not be beat. We don't have children, but the bedroom decorated in Winnie the Pooh would be so much fun for kids..we have had adult guests who loved it! Our dog loves the yard...we live in an area she can not be off leash, so the freedom of the huge fenced in yard is a real treat for her. We come for extended stays..three or four weeks, and I can honestly say we have come to love this house as our own and think of it as our second home. Convenient to all local sights and attractions, wonderful restaurants and wineries, do not hesitate to reserve some time here, you will never regret this choice."
