"Rented this cabin for a quilt retreat and it surpassed all expectations. The house was just phenomenal and the view is exceptional. Very comfortable rooms and the kitchen has everything. Owner was very nice and helpful and answered all questions. Will definitely plan to return!"

  • Peaceful, beautiful country cottage

"We had a wonderful stay in May at Seven Oaks Cottage. The facilities were just as described, very clean and comfortable, and so homely with lots of personal touches and plenty of leaflets and advice about the surrounding area. We visited Staunton, the Frontier Culture Museum the Skyline Drive and Charlottesville - all an easy drive from the cottage. We also enjoyed the fresh eggs the owners gave us from their chickens! The owners were very helpful and friendly, whilst also respecting our privacy. We enjoyed seeing all the animals, walking in the forest on the farm and sampling some of the fresh strawberries growing just outside the cottage. The fire pit was great - toasting marshmallows in the flames, spotting fireflies and stargazing over the rolling hills around us - a truly magical stay, thank you so much."

  • A Sublime Get-Away!

"Chris and Steve are not just the owners of Rainbow View cabin, they are its gracious hosts (tho not physically onsite)! We were greeted with a bottle of wine and basket of snack goodies, and an exceptionally well-equipped cabin. The kitchen is fully outfitted for cooking and dining, and even includes a coffee bean grinder. The beds are comfy with high quality cotton sheets, the fireplace (with Duraflame logs provided) adds a coziness, and the hot tub is delightful. Then there’s the view across the valley with limitless stars overhead at night. The cabin also has a great location, a few miles from the Appalachian Trail (which we hiked) and a Napa-quality winery, Fox Meadows (try the Chambourcin, a smooth East coast blend). Front Royal is about 30 minutes away. On a rainy day, we visited the Civil War era home of Confederate spy Belle Boyd and wandered through the enormous offerings at the Royal Oak used bookstore. Dinner at Elements rivaled that of city fare. We definitely want to return and can’t recommend Rainbow View highly enough!"

  • A heavenly oasis by the river

"First I just want to say, this property is amazing! It is directly on the river and the deck is just fantastic for relaxing on. And just when you think the deck couldn't get any better ... there is a hot tub. An amazing, star viewing, relaxing hot tub. For the more active I should mention there are: lots of water craft (kayaks, canoes, etc), room to frolic to and fro, a fire pit, a dock for swimming (or jumping and and running away in the winter), and access to great areas for a morning jog. If all of this wasn't already enough to make you want to rent this fantastic property, just step inside and find the three luxurious bathrooms, marbled master bath, full dining room, updated appliances, and living room with all leather seating and flat screen tv. A+ would recommend."
