"I stayed at this wonderful home last week with my two kids (10 and 7). We have stayed at the timeshares at Massanutten before, but this was our first time in a private home. So glad we did! The kids both agreed that this was one of their favorite vacation homes we've ever rented (and we travel quite a bit), and I share that opinion! For starters, Carol was so responsive and made renting the home very simple. Check in with simple - just call and get the code for the side door. No need to get a key and keep track of it all week. The home is private, comfortable, nicely decorated, well-stocked, and clean. My kids LOVED the selection of games in the loft - we ended up making a tradition of playing Apples to Apples every night while we ate dinner. The couches and beds are so comfortable, and the layout was great - I appreciated having the master suite upstairs with the other two bedrooms downstairs. The deck is awesome - I sat out there each morning with my coffee, watching the deer in the yard. The nicely paved circle driveway is also one of those nice touches that you don't appreciate until you use it. The home itself is great on its own, but we appreciated having the activities of Massanutten Resort so close by too. The kids did the zip line, rock climbing, summer tubing, and of course the water park! We also very much enjoyed taking the lift to the top of the mountain. It made for a vacation that was relaxing but with enough activity to keep the kids entertained. We would absolutely rent this home again, hopefully during ski season next time! Thanks for sharing your home with us, Carol!"

"Our two families (8) found plenty of room to spread out in this three-level townhome right on the Massanutten property. It is perfect for younger families, due to the steep driveway and two sets of stairs to navigate from the road to the top floor. There are two parking spaces in front of the door, but there are ample spaces available at the street level.
Rooms were comfortable with ample space on the lower level for teens to 'hang out'. The air hockey made great fun with our family tournaments. The queen pull-out was large enough to accommodate our 6' 3" teen and we had room to place a queen inflatable for our adult child.
The upstairs third floor has a spacious master queen with private bath; the second bedroom with comfortable queen has double-door closet. It would be helpful to have a small dresser or corner desk/table to put items on/in. Third bedroom has twin bunks with a small dresser and kid's desk.
The air unit was broken during our stay, but we lucked out with fantastic weather. It only became slightly uncomfortable during a thunderstorm when we needed to close up the windows. The good news is that a new unit is being installed and should be working before we leave (tomorrow). The owner was kind and apologetic for the issue.
The middle floor has the living room and kitchen. The kitchen is spacious with a small table. Plenty of glassware, plateware and cookware is available for family meals. Watch out for the ant neighbors; putting away food is important. The water had a strong sulfur smell until the hot water tank emptied, then it was fine for cooking and bathing. The refrigerator has a water filter spout for drinking water on demand. The deck is wonderful for coffee in the am.
The living room holds a table for 8 with a helpful lazy Susan. There is a loveseat, couch and large ottoman for seating. There is a smart TV with Amazon and Netflix access. The network key is located on the bottom of the modem for your wireless devices.
Most activities were within walking distance. If you walk to the left to the end of Killy Court, there is a dirt path to the Adventure Park, which links to the general store and lodge. There is an activity area across from the general store with go-carts, bungee, pool and mini golf. All require a small per person fee ($5.00). The chair lifts are a must-do for spectacular views, but wear good hiking boots/shoes.
We would like to return!"

"It was great to see that the Above the River Cabin looked every bit as good as it did in the listing description. The cabin was clean and tidy and the owner was very helpful in the lead up to.our stay and was on hand if.we needed help.
All the.amenities were provided for. BBQ in the evenings, relaxing in the hot tub and sitting on the porch chatting about our day over a class of locally made wine at night.
Enjoyed sunbathing, canoeing and fishing on the Shenandoah river. There are.plenty of interesting places to see.and visit. Highlights include: museums and shops Monticello, Stanton, New Market, the Skyline Drive, Shenandoah Speedway and Dan's Steakhouse to mention.only a few. And DC is only an hour and half.drive away.
All in all.my wife, two boys and I.had a fantastic two weeks! I reccomend thins cabin to anyone who wishes to enjoy not only the relaxing atmosphere of this location but to anybody who wishes to visit the wonderful sites, towns and play we.of interest in this part of Virginia."

"This unit was clean and well kept.with the beds being exceptionally comfortable. The view was fantastic and we had the perfect viewing area to see the Fourth of July fireworks! We tried geocaching and it was definitely a memorable experience! Overall. the resort would be better suited to families with young children. However, dinner was great with exceptional service to detail."
