"I love this house, I love this location, I LOVED the amazing view from the deck- the sunsets are incredible! The rooms are clean with nice lines and towels, and the house is well-cared for. We especially appreciated the detailed information packet about the house and the well written driving directions- the drive up the gravel street/driveway was an adventure, but the little Honda Civic did just fine! We will be back for sure! Many thanks, John!"

"Our two families (8) found plenty of room to spread out in this three-level townhome right on the Massanutten property. It is perfect for younger families, due to the steep driveway and two sets of stairs to navigate from the road to the top floor. There are two parking spaces in front of the door, but there are ample spaces available at the street level.
Rooms were comfortable with ample space on the lower level for teens to 'hang out'. The air hockey made great fun with our family tournaments. The queen pull-out was large enough to accommodate our 6' 3" teen and we had room to place a queen inflatable for our adult child.
The upstairs third floor has a spacious master queen with private bath; the second bedroom with comfortable queen has double-door closet. It would be helpful to have a small dresser or corner desk/table to put items on/in. Third bedroom has twin bunks with a small dresser and kid's desk.
The air unit was broken during our stay, but we lucked out with fantastic weather. It only became slightly uncomfortable during a thunderstorm when we needed to close up the windows. The good news is that a new unit is being installed and should be working before we leave (tomorrow). The owner was kind and apologetic for the issue.
The middle floor has the living room and kitchen. The kitchen is spacious with a small table. Plenty of glassware, plateware and cookware is available for family meals. Watch out for the ant neighbors; putting away food is important. The water had a strong sulfur smell until the hot water tank emptied, then it was fine for cooking and bathing. The refrigerator has a water filter spout for drinking water on demand. The deck is wonderful for coffee in the am.
The living room holds a table for 8 with a helpful lazy Susan. There is a loveseat, couch and large ottoman for seating. There is a smart TV with Amazon and Netflix access. The network key is located on the bottom of the modem for your wireless devices.
Most activities were within walking distance. If you walk to the left to the end of Killy Court, there is a dirt path to the Adventure Park, which links to the general store and lodge. There is an activity area across from the general store with go-carts, bungee, pool and mini golf. All require a small per person fee ($5.00). The chair lifts are a must-do for spectacular views, but wear good hiking boots/shoes.
We would like to return!"

"Gooney house is a huge and beautiful rustic mountain home with every amenity you need to fully enjoy being "away" from the hustle of daily life. Gooney was the perfect escape for 3 moms and 7 kids aged 2-5 years old! No one could get enough of the creek play and days of all outdoor fun. The house is so well suited to multiple or large extended families. The bedrooms are very spacious as is the living and dining space. Even the kitchen could accommodate all of us and had everything we needed to make all of our meals for everyone everyday! There was more than enough clean or even new towels and bed linens. The privacy around the home provided by the size of the property and the creek is irreplaceable. And the proximity to multiple wonderful hiking spots and other mountain adventures like rafting, cave exploring etc makes me look forward to the next chance I can get to go back to Gooney. We loved heading into downtown Front Royal for the Friday night town square concert and dining at Blue Wing Frog - don't miss eating there or picking up food for a hike. The kids loved he used bookstore in town that had a huge selection of books. LOVED Gooney and so did everyone we travelled with!"

"Our family had a wonderful stay at Winding Ridge. The owner Kevin is so very friendly and answered all of my questions not only about the property but about things to do in the area. This is a perfect home if you are looking for a quiet mountain getaway. The view from the crows nest is great. The house is spacious so it doesn't feel crowded and the outside wrap around deck/porch is just right. You will enjoy!! I'm sure this is spectacular in the fall when the leaves are changing."
