  • Loved Gooney Lodge

"I recently stayed at Gooney lodge and I couldn't say enough good things about this place. It was close enough to DC to not spend hours on the highway, but also remote enough that we felt like we were truly escaping. The lodge is very charming and I loved sitting on the front porch enjoying the sounds of the creek. I would go back any time. It was a wonderful experience to truly unplug for the weekend. No cell service was a blessing!"

  • AMAZING!!!!

"We arrived late on the first to find David turning on the lights for us. I have to admit that when we drove up and saw the light coming from all of the windows it was a very welcoming sight. This cabin is so comfortable and made us feel like we just got home. The cabin was exactly as described in the online advertisement. The location was perfect for us to go site seeing and in close proximity to the Virginia Horse center which was our primary reason for choosing this space to rent. We could not have been happier with our stay and with the accommodations! My mom, brother and I have all said that if ever we are going to be back in the area again that we would definitely choose to stay at this location again if at all possible."

  • Great place to stay in historic Winchester!

"My sister and I did our annual extended weekend visit in Winchester this year and were lucky enough to be the guests of Justine and Jonathan Rose in the Peter Miller House. The house was easy to find and there was plenty of parking right outside the door. Justine and Jonathan were very friendly and helpful, both during the booking process and as hosts. The house was sparkling clean and cool when we arrived (It was 86 degrees and humid outside, but really comfortable inside). The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were comfortable. There were plenty of very clean new looking towels and everything worked well. The house has comfortable furniture and plenty of seating in the large living room. We really enjoyed our stay. The house is 2 blocks south of the Old Town walkway and and easy walk to all the restaurants and shops. We ate at the Union Jack, Brewbakers, Cajun, and the Dancing Goat. Service and food were excellent in all restaurants. Dining is casual and waiters were all friendly. I highly recommend the Peter Miller House and the hospitality of Justine and Jonathan."

  • Honeymoon location

"Gorgeous view every morning, soothing hot tub, EXTRA large shower for two, fully furnished house with washer/dryer (a major plus). It was a great honeymoon location and it was near so many fun things like Luray Caverns, the picturesque town of Luray, Canoeing, and many other things. My wife and I highly recommend it and hope to come back to it again someday!"
