  • Fantastic

"We stayed two nights for some relaxation between city stops on an East Coast road trip. Shenandoah Dreaming was perfect for that. We had our three older teenage kids with us and they all loved it. What was not to like ? The location right on the river is great. the cabin is huge. A great change for us after cramped city apartments. We were only there two days but I think we made use of everything. We sat out on the veranda, used the canoes and enjoyed the fire pit. The Wi-Fi was great - faster than most of the hotels and city apartments we stayed at on this trip. The only improvement I'd like to see would be a firmer mattress in the main bedroom - it sags a bit. But that was a minor point."

  • Wonderful!

"I recently stayed in the smokehouse. Very warm and homey! I'm so glad I stayed here rather than a hotel. The property is just gorgeous and our greeters, Chester and Dozer, gave us a grand tour! Would definitely stay here again."

  • A heavenly oasis by the river

"First I just want to say, this property is amazing! It is directly on the river and the deck is just fantastic for relaxing on. And just when you think the deck couldn't get any better ... there is a hot tub. An amazing, star viewing, relaxing hot tub. For the more active I should mention there are: lots of water craft (kayaks, canoes, etc), room to frolic to and fro, a fire pit, a dock for swimming (or jumping and and running away in the winter), and access to great areas for a morning jog. If all of this wasn't already enough to make you want to rent this fantastic property, just step inside and find the three luxurious bathrooms, marbled master bath, full dining room, updated appliances, and living room with all leather seating and flat screen tv. A+ would recommend."

  • A Wonderful Place to Stay!

"My niece was getting married in Luray, VA and we needed a place for various members of the bride's family to stay. Marksville Manor could not have been more perfect. Imagine arriving at a home you have never seen late in the afternoon and hosting the bridal party that night! The party went so smoothly because the house is outfitted with everything you could possibly need (including the kitchen). Joanie's Pound Cake, a beautiful gift basket (with everything for Smores) and cheese from a local market were waiting in the kitchen. Corn hole boards for outdoor fun were stashed by the side of the house. There was ample parking and the chairs on the front porch were so inviting. The house was very clean and the beds comfortable. We are already looking for an opportunity to return! This is a gem of a place!"
