  • Great for multiple generations. Relaxing.

"A beautiful home with plenty of space for visiting or just porch rocking. Our four generations enjoyed our together time as well as a 500 piece puzzle. The kitchen truly had everything we needed. This house is a step back in time with all the modern conveniences. We had a great vacation!"

  • Perfect setting to tie the knot!

"We can't say enough good about the Rock! The views, the scenery, the tons of things to do on this property alone could keep you here for weeks. We are looking forward to a return visit. The cabin was cozy, the fishing was great, nice evening camp fires both by the water and cabin, grilled & soaked in the hot tub every day, took naps and ate our meals in the sleeping porch. Even saw Turkey. A great place to kick back relax and enjoy nature. So much of the 200 acres we didn't get to explore but plan on next time. Atv in the canyon, the shooting range and inner tubing are next on our list. Read all the reviews. Looks like lots of memories made here. We are glad we chose this location for our wedding. And the pictures are sure to turn out amazing! Jeff was quite accommodating especially prepping the grounds knowing we were getting married here. The cabin had everything in it you would need. Even the wild flowers came thru for us and made for a perfect bouquet. This is now a special place for us. One we will visit for years to come!"

  • Great winter vacation

"This house was a perfect place to stay for a ski weekend in the mountains. Everything was clean and worked and was very comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. The kids enjoyed playing on the Wii. We loved having a huge master suite upstairs. We all loved sitting around the fire after a day of skiing. Would definitely rent here again."

  • This house has become our "home-away-from-home"

"We have stayed at Serene House twice now and can not imagine a more perfect place to spend time in Shenandoah Valley. Although it is in a community, the houses are situated so you really feel completely private as though you are alone in the woods. Sitting on the large deck looking out at the trees and mountains is just beautiful We appreciate the fully equipped kitchen which is set up perfectly to allow any cooking endeavors you may wish. The house is always spotlessly clean and fresh when we arrive, the linens and towels are wonderful quality, the beds are so comfortable, and sitting by the fire after a day of exploring the area with a book or a glass of wine can not be beat. We don't have children, but the bedroom decorated in Winnie the Pooh would be so much fun for kids..we have had adult guests who loved it! Our dog loves the yard...we live in an area she can not be off leash, so the freedom of the huge fenced in yard is a real treat for her. We come for extended stays..three or four weeks, and I can honestly say we have come to love this house as our own and think of it as our second home. Convenient to all local sights and attractions, wonderful restaurants and wineries, do not hesitate to reserve some time here, you will never regret this choice."
