"This home is located very close to the lake with large windows to showcase the gorgeous view. We particularly enjoyed having two living areas to spread ourselves out and yet enough separate bedrooms to enjoy privacy as well. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the basics, including a crockpot; everything was in good working order. The firepit was a big hit--and so convenient to have firewood at the ready (you just need to add money to a jar). We had a relaxing and wonderful time!"

"Had my husband's 50th birthday party at the lakehouse for a weekend stay. The home is a class act all around...totally beautiful and very tastefully decorated and very clean. Mix of ages from 8yrs old to 72yrs. EVERYONE had a great time. Water was cold as we stayed in October, but with 6 teens in tow...they did not care. They used the water trampoline, canoe and firepit. It is VERY difficult to tire out these active teens, but this house offered plenty to keep them busy. The teens used the ping pong table and had contests and eventually nestled into the theater room at night and watched Jurassic Park until 1am. Didn't think a kitchen could be too big...ok it can't, especially with 6+ women in the kitchen at once. But the kitchen truly is the most important room in this or any house. Kitchen is awesome for workspace, gathering, eating, food layout. The beds were comfy and the layout perfect. Only two caveats I can think of...grill is on ground level patio area, which is normal, but the only way to access it is to go down the 17 basement stairs. If you do not grill, no biggie, but we are grillers and it was not ideal. Second is garbage pickup. There is no garbage pickup service for the house, so the sign on the inside garage door indicates to load your garbage into your vehicle and drop it off at the community dumpster about 3 miles away. No way I was putting that in my minivan. The sign on garage door says you will be charged for excessive garbage left. I don't know what that means, but we left 5 lg bags of garbage in the bins in garage. I think it would serve the owners better if they need to charge for garbage removal to add the garbage disposal fees into cleaning fees so renters do not have to be shocked about garbage arrangement. With that said, owner Dave is VERY responsive, professional, flexible and a down right good guy. Thank you for sharing your home!!!"

"Last weekend, we had our annual family get together at The Great Escape. We all had such a fantastic time that we are already talking about planning next year’s gathering there, too. Pete was excellent to work with throughout the planning process and prompt in responding to questions. There are so many wonderful things about The Great Escape. The name describes it perfectly. It lets you take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday work and stress to relax. We were lucky to have perfect weather for morning jogs, relaxing on the deck, and taking the peddle boat out on the lake. The view is panoramic and spectacular. We enjoyed morning coffee to a spectacular sunrise and wine in the evening to an equally, beautiful sunset. The inside of this magnificent home has a dream kitchen, plenty of chairs around a huge table for family meals, and a gathering room for relaxing. When it was time to sleep, everyone had a comfortable bed. If you and your family are planning a gathering for a crowd, this is the place to be. We are looking forward to our next gathering and it is highly likely it will be at The Great Escape."
