  • Urban "detox" for the whole family!

"My family of 4 including myself, my wife, and our two kids (8 and 9 years-old) stayed at this wonderful cabin for 3 nights and 4 days over Spring Break. Our (the parents) goal was to have a some real family time without cell phones, video games or other electronic distractions. No TV, satellite, or cell phone service here! As nervous as I was (we're fairly "plugged in" normally), this was a GREAT decision and this cabin was perfect! The cabin was very comfortable and just the perfect amount of rustic. Of course we had electricity, hot water, a bathroom with shower, and a fully stocked kitchen (bring your own food) so we had the essential modern conveniences. The beds were comfy and the kids especially loved the loft! We ate breakfasts and dinners on the front porch and watched the kids practice archery, fly kites, and play with the puppy in the field in front of the cabin. Bring some carrots and apples for the horses too! The setting was beautiful and the kids fell in love with the horses and the resident puppy, Finn. There were deer to be seen every morning and evening and we especially liked the short walk up the driveway to the biggest beaver dam we've ever seen! We finally saw a couple of beavers inspecting the dam around sunset one evening. If you can find it (Joe will help), there's a "skid trail" that will take you up to the top of the large hill where the views are fantastic and even more deer can be found! On the trip, we spotted deer, beavers, mountain goats, and bald eagles. It's been a long time since I've seen starts like the ones in these dark skies… amazing! Although this is the perfect place to re-connect with the family without the gizmos interfering, there are places within an easy drive to quickly make sure modern civilization still exists! :-) We drove into Leavenworth and to Chelan within an hour for sightseeing. There's a small convenience store 5 minutes down the road and a grocery store 15 minutes away. We HIGHLY recommend this cabin to anyone who wants to get away from it all for a few days but still be in easy driving distance to the "big city". The owners are very helpful and yet mindful of your privacy. The setting is serene and the cabin very comfortable. Unplug and unwind for a few days, it may just surprise you how good it feels!"

  • Amazing!!

"This home was perfect for our large family vacation...10 adults, a toddler and 2 infants over the course of the week. There are not words to describe the view from almost every room in the home...it is amazing!! Mike and Sarah have thought of everything to make your stay perfect...their home is well stocked with all that you need to enjoy your stay. It is well-maintained and clean...pride of ownership shines throughout. We spent our days enjoying the community pool and lakeside beach area as well as venturing down to the County Park near Beebe Bridge. This home is definitely on our "Let's Go There Again!!" list...thanks Mike and Sarah for sharing your beautiful home with us!!"

  • Family Reunion

"I wish I could select 4.5 stars. The home and the setting are beautiful -- exactly what we had hoped for. The water skiing conditions were equal to the best I've ever seen -- and my family has been skiing for a long time. The owner / manager was prompt in replying to my queries, both in our initial consideration of the property, and while we were there. Her attitude was invariably encouraging and accommodating -- which honestly was a deciding factor in our choosing this property over another available location. We had 6 grand kids with us -- and were pleased to find safety gate precautions in place at the top of stairs, and some toys that were there in bins for young kids entertainment. I would give the property five stars, except we encountered some maintenance issues that made me wonder if they were recurring, and had been deferred, rather than properly fixed. Since they didn't have a major bearing on our ability to enjoy our time there, I'm withholding specifying exactly what they were: "Slightly irritating" -- and then we got over it. If they're still in the vacation rental market in two years -- we'll be back."
