"Very nice set up. We only rented the 2 bedroom portion for a couple of days. Close to hiking, hot tub worked great. We bought bug spray, toilet paper, and such, but the house was much better stocked than it said (there were already 4-5 cans of bug spray in the house). Great jumping off place to go out in the mountains exploring. I was a little nervous going to the river due to overgrowth that looked like poison ivy to me.
If you were going to stay here with little kids in the summer it'd be a great nature vacation, but you'd need to plan daily excursions (i.e., there's not much exciting to do around the house, the TV is old/little, and there is no internet. Me personally, I got a lot of reading in while listening to the river rustle by...It feels like you're in a rain forest it's so green.
For those who worry about phones...we have Verizon and got 2 bars if we were in the kitchen, one inside the house."

"This place is the quintessential mountain getaway spot -- complete with hot tub, cozy cabin vibes, and a quiet, secluded juxtaposition to the roaring river, one can truly relax. We had an epic grocery shop and delved into an exploration of our culinary talents like never before. We embibed on aperitifs and incredible wines by the fire. Our group was comfortable, and the Mysty Mountain staff provided us with exceptional customer service and ease. Do yourself a favor, and head east.. but don't do it without consulting Mysty Mountain first -- they are the Eastern Washington experts, all of their listings seem impeccably, top-notch. Whether you're there throwing a log on the fire in winter or having a mountain walk in summer, Mysty Mountain will not disappoint. Great for family and friends! Pet friendly too..."

"Our stay at the cabin was really fun. The owners were staying right next door that weekend and were really helpful answering our many questions in person and over the phone, they also left us a bottle of wine, which was a nice touch. The cabin itself is nicer than it appears in the photos, shower is modern and huge. The Kitchen is partially updated and has a tiny, but really nice and quiet dishwasher that we could run at any time of day and the sound wasn’t annoying. We were 9 people total, 6 adults 2 small toddlers and a 5 year old and space was a little tight, but we managed fine. One unexpected thing about the cabin that we couldn’t see from the photos was that it is actually not right on the river bank, there is a large creek in between the cabin and the river and it is a significant walk to the actual river with toddler feet. The distance wasn't the problem for us, we could still see and hear the river just fine and the fly-fisherman of the group was able to enjoy the quiet of the river away from the kids (and catch a few fish!). The problem was that the creek that is very close to the cabin makes for an abrupt and steep 8 to 10 foot ravine that was a major hazard with the kids. We had to hold onto the toddlers arms at all times when outside (this is not super fun with a 2 year old!) and the mom of the 5 year old was really stressed out that he would accidently slip and fall down there, we were lucky that is was quite chilly the weekend we were there, so we just ate all our meals and spent most of our relaxing time inside. I would not recommend staying here with small kids if you plan on hanging out outside the cabin or want to enjoy a fire in a fire pit with your family. The fire circle is right next to the dropoff, so you have to keep the kids out of the fire and make sure they don’t fall off the cliff, not very relaxing, we just had one tiny fire after the kids were asleep. The owners had a hose ready for us right next to the fire circle so we could completely put out the fire safely and easily. The location of the cabin is great, we found a nice nearby hike to trout lake in one of the books at the cabin, we all loved it. Overall, this place a great nearby escape from city life, very clean and inviting, comfy beds, I would stay here again once the kid is older."
