  • The perfect venue for our snow adventure

"We booked this house with the hopes of enjoying a long weekend full of snowy adventure and cozy comfort, and we were not disappointed. The big yard doesn't get enough mention. Perhaps it's no big deal in the summertime, but in the winter, covered with 3 feet of snow, it becomes an Adventureland of forts, moats, castles and wars. There's a steep sledding slope leading to it that provided a rush of adrenaline even for the adults. The kids spent hours in the backyard, with the adults comfortably ensconced in the well-equipped kitchen, watching the through the large back windows. I want to make sure people know about Lake Wenatchee State Park, only 10 to 15 minutes away. It makes a good all-day outing, with the kids moving from snowshoeing around the shoreline to snacking to sledding the relatively gentle and wide sledding hill. (The sledding hill at the home is a fast chute, an exciting ride for older kids, but a test of courage for the younger ones.) Our older kids and adults took turns cross-country skiing over beautiful groomed trails. At the main parking lot, passes are available for purchase at the automated booth. $20 per car when we went. We made a big dent in the generous supply of dry firewood. There's something about coming in from the snow and staring at the crackling flames. It also helps in drying the soaking wet boots, gloves, and socks the kids bring in. Everything else is as one would hope for in a good vacation home: comfortable beds, responsive owners, clean furnishings, a good kitchen, and a wild West theme down to the last quirky detail."

  • great stay!

"We stayed with 3 families (6 adults and 5 little boys) over New Years and had a blast. The house was great. Well equipped and plenty of room for all of us. The location would have been AWESOME for sledding but alas, mother nature didn't agree and left us little snow. The only other thing missing is a hot tub which I love after a good ski day. Highly recommended!"
