  • Great home for a family!

"We had a nice time at this home and really enjoyed the outdoor living space! We spent every evening out on the deck enjoying the view of the lake! The neighborhood is quiet, however the house does back up to the main highway into Manson, so we did hear some traffic. The only two things that were disappointing were the mattresses (ikea?) which were really uncomfortable and the lack of blinds or room darkening shades in the bedrooms....let's just say everyone woke up with the sun and stiff backs! Other than that, everything worked great, there is plenty of space for extra vehicles and a nice family/game room downstairs for the kids. You won't be disappointed with this house!"

  • Wonderful Family Gathering Spot

"Our family rented this beautiful home for four nights and were sad to leave. Everything was so clean and organized. There was nothing the owners had not thought of to make our stay so enjoyable. The grandchildren loved it as much as their parents who taught them games on the lovely lawn. We went to Lake Kachess daily and they had every size life jacket, beach towels, beach chairs, kayaks, and canoe available for us. The hot tub was perfect. The trails near their home amazing. We look forward to coming back to this rental and highly recommend it. The owners were super friendly and helpful."

  • To be Forever Remembered.....

"Thank you for sharing your home so welcoming in every way. Comfortable, cozy and relaxing with all the convenience of home with none of the stress. A well equipped kitchen, very very comfortable bed (beds) lots of closet and storage for toys and sports equipment, and all the things we schlep with us, massive gorgeous stone fireplaces with plenty of firewood, a huge kitchen table plus bar for family or just a couple eating or snacks on the run, big plush chairs and sofas in two rooms to enjoy friends or just each other and two roomy outdoor areas to capture every ray of sun or cool of shade with chairs and lounges to rest, read or visit with a View to Die For. Tvs with lots of channels in nearly every room and lots of good reading, we never wondered what to do only how to squeeze it all in. We had sun all week but today the rainstorm brought color and texture and sound to the Lake and hills that was .breathtaking. The sun is ready to.set. The sky is pink and turquoise a sight to behold. It's a perfect spot for access to hiking or walking to shooting or fishing. Every amenity is available at Wapato from workout room to swimming in several pools kayaks and mini golf. We enjoyed wine tasting and although we primarily cooked and grilled here we enjoyed several nearby Manson and Chelan restaurants. We will forever remember our time here and dream and plan for our return. THANK YOU"

North Central Cascades Travel Tips

Cascade Mountains Vacation Rentals Make the Most of the Stunning Washington Scenery

Tucked away in the northwest corner of the sates, the Cascade Mountains are a stunning natural retreat for those looking for fresh air and plenty of outdoor activities. With superb recreational activities in both winter and summer, this area is popular with outdoor enthusiasts, nature lovers and sightseers.

The Changing Seasonal Weather at Your Cascade Mountains Lodging

The Cascade Mountains experience cold winter temperatures from November through February with significant snowfall. During the dry summer months, average temperatures reach 90 F (32 C) in Leavenworth although the high peaks are cooler and rainier. The scenery is particularly spectacular in the fall when the aspens change color and in the winter, when the mountains and forests are covered in snow.

Places to Visit from Washington Vacation Rentals

The Cascade Mountains extend south from British Columbia throughout Washington State and fall into three distinct areas. The North Cascades include Mount Baker, Chelan Lake and several national wilderness areas. The Central Cascades are very accessible, just two hours from Seattle, and a popular playground for locals as well as visitors, offering climbing, hiking, skiing and other outdoor recreational activities. The Bavarian town of Leavenworth makes for a popular day out with its alpine architecture, a replica "May tree," inns, cheese shops and other typically German attractions. It hosts many annual festivals and is an ideal center for restaurants, wine tasting, sleigh rides and outdoor theater events. Nearby, Snoqualmie is close to the John Wayne Trail as well as the famous Snoqualmie Falls. It has a casino, Rattlesnake Lake, and great ski slopes in the winter.

The Southern Cascades include the impressive snow-capped volcanoes of Mount Adams, Mount Rainier and Mount St. Helens, famous for "blowing its top" in 1980 and producing a cloud of ash which carried around the world. There are a number of visitor centers around Mount St. Helens which offer guided walks, lectures from rangers and excellent films about the history and geology of the area.

How to Reach the Cascade Mountains Cabins

The nearest airport to the Washington Cascade Mountains is the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport which is a couple of hours by car from most parts of the Cascades. The area is also easy to drive to from the I-5 which lies to the west of the area.

Things to Do from Your Washington Vacation Rentals

The Cascades offer miles of hiking trails through the forests. Hunting, horseback riding, birdwatching and rock climbing can all be enjoyed in this unspoiled area. The fast-flowing rivers provide great opportunities for fishing, picnicing, kayaking and swimming. The magnificent waterfalls in the area are also worth hiking to see. The area offers great driving tours and nature lovers are likely to see elk, deer, squirrels, eagles and ospreys which abound in the cedar and hemlock forests.

In the winter, there are countless opportunities for snowmobiling, alpine and cross country skiing, snowshoeing and sledding, although many of the passes and minor roads are closed due to the heavy snowfall.

Cascade Mountains Vacation Rentals Have Great Amenities

The only way to truly enjoy this area is by making a Cascade Mountains lodging your base for a weekend or longer. The fully equipped kitchens have refrigerators, microwaves, dishwashers and washer/dryers, and they provide all you need at the end of a day's outdoor activities. Prepare home-cooked meals and picnic lunches or enjoy grilling beneath the stars in your well-equipped Cascade Mountains home-away-from-home. The log fire, showers, soaking bathtubs and comfortable beds will be very welcome after a day of strenuous activity in the mountains. Well located with superb views of the stunning mountain scenery, they also offer great value for money when shared with friends and family.
