  • Relaxing getaway!

"This house was the perfect spot for our two families to spend the weekend in the Gorge area. With six kids total aged 1 to 14, there was plenty of room inside and outside for all the kids to spread out and play. We all enjoyed our quality time together including home cooked meals on the deck and s'mores by the fire pit. We had beautiful weather and after spending an entire day at the Washougal mx park in the sun, this place was a nice, cool spot to escape to from the heat! We were all left wishing we had a couple more days together to enjoy the place and our time together."

  • Eva's Cottage

"This is really a special place. Being from Vancouver it wasn't very far. But it felt like you were in the middle of nowhere. Everything was terrific! The cottage was very clean and well stalked. My only criticism would be the firewood. Like other cottages I have stayed at, the wood doesn't burn well. I brought an axe to cut it into smaller pieces and that helped. I brought a couple duraflame logs that made a huge difference. Other then that, make sure to bring your own food. There is a store about 3 miles down the road but it's expensive. Other then that enjoy! I wasn't brave enough to swim in the cold river but the hot tub was so nice. Especially at night. It's all very private. I have no doubt I will return soon!"

  • Perfect Stay

"We thoroughly enjoyed our extended stay in this cozy home in Bingen, Wa. Denise is very friendly, helpful, and hospitable. We highly recommend a stay here! The house has many great updates- very nice kitchen, bathroom, washer & dryer, satellite television, dvd player, and wifi. The kitchen is stocked with everything needed to make a nice meal to be enjoyed in warm weather out on the deck. The yard has undergone a major renovation and it is beautiful. Again, the large deck is a peaceful place to enjoy the gorgeous views and drink a cup of coffee or glass of wine. Staying in Bingen/White Salmon (a quick 5 minute trip across the bridge) is a great alternative to downtown Hood River. There are many excellent restaurants- Henni’s and Everybody’s Brewing in White Salmon. Bingen has Taqueria El Rinconcito Express, Mugs Coffee, Dicky’s Farm Store, and several more restaurants. The Farm Store carries many local wines, produce, and freshly baked pies & donuts. The Feast Store in White Salmon also has a nice selection of local and organic products some of which we don’t have in Portland. If you have a chance visit AniChe Cellars, Syncline, and Domaine Pouillon Wineries. Dog Mountain is a great hike with an awesome summit view. The trains run often, in our opinion it adds to the charm and it’s easily tolerated. Our young kids loved it and would run to windows to catch a glimpse. We have great memories of our stay here and look forward to coming back again soon."
