  • Very inviting, clean, and nice!

"Just far enough away from the city, and yet close enough to access all of the restaurants, attractions, and activities. It is about a 20 minute drive to downtown Portland. Very spacious and clean. John was very accommodating and responsive to our needs. We enjoyed our time at this home. Private with lots of parking. There is a view of the Columbia river from the living room, and the bedrooms are on the back of the home with plenty of privacy. The entrance to the freeway system is just about 5 minutes from the home. Walking and jogging paths are close by."

  • Peaceful

"The place is very peaceful and has a great view. The neighbor (caretakers) are far enough away and quiet that you feel totally alone, especially after driving the dirt road to the place at night. If it wasn't obvious, the place is a bit out of the way, but not insanely so. I windsurf and the drive to Swell or the Hatchery are only about 20 minutes away. Not bad. It might be frustrating if you forget a grocery item though. All the amenities are there but we couldn't use the fireplace because of no-burning in effect. If it's hot, there is only 1 window unit in 1 of the bedrooms so just a word of caution on that. There are also no window coverings but if you're an early riser, that should not be a problem. I did not check the 55+ category because of the dim lighting in some of the rooms and, especially the stairway. I really enjoyed my stay there and would certainly recommend the place for just about anyone doing anything from being active to staying there and reading all day which I did most mornings."

  • Great condo for the two of us!

"The description of this condo was very accurate on the website and from the owner herself. We didn't mind the stairs (we're both 60) and noise from the train and planes. The place is clean and organized and had everything you would want for a week or longer stay. I liked the fact that you knew where to put things back since the cupboards were labeled. The owner was great to work with and responded in a timely manner to our questions."

  • Perfect Stay

"We thoroughly enjoyed our extended stay in this cozy home in Bingen, Wa. Denise is very friendly, helpful, and hospitable. We highly recommend a stay here! The house has many great updates- very nice kitchen, bathroom, washer & dryer, satellite television, dvd player, and wifi. The kitchen is stocked with everything needed to make a nice meal to be enjoyed in warm weather out on the deck. The yard has undergone a major renovation and it is beautiful. Again, the large deck is a peaceful place to enjoy the gorgeous views and drink a cup of coffee or glass of wine. Staying in Bingen/White Salmon (a quick 5 minute trip across the bridge) is a great alternative to downtown Hood River. There are many excellent restaurants- Henni’s and Everybody’s Brewing in White Salmon. Bingen has Taqueria El Rinconcito Express, Mugs Coffee, Dicky’s Farm Store, and several more restaurants. The Farm Store carries many local wines, produce, and freshly baked pies & donuts. The Feast Store in White Salmon also has a nice selection of local and organic products some of which we don’t have in Portland. If you have a chance visit AniChe Cellars, Syncline, and Domaine Pouillon Wineries. Dog Mountain is a great hike with an awesome summit view. The trains run often, in our opinion it adds to the charm and it’s easily tolerated. Our young kids loved it and would run to windows to catch a glimpse. We have great memories of our stay here and look forward to coming back again soon."
