  • The Best New Years Ever!

"We had a reunion with family and close friends at this house for New Years. First of all, the house is huge and beautiful! We did not make use of the attached apartment, but definitely will next time. We spent a lot of time gathered around the fire pit at night and then sitting on the deck drinking coffee and enjoying the river in the morning. The kids enjoyed the large TV in the living room which had access to Netflix, so they had plenty of movies to keep them busy. It is a very quick drive to the Mt. Adams area and there is a fantastic view of the mountain from the third floor deck. The owners are very nice and easy to work with. We had so much fun and it was so relaxing. Definitely the best New Years I've ever had. We will vacation here again for sure this summer!"

  • Great Rental in a Great Area!

"We were a group of nine seniors looking for adventure in the Sun, we found it. This beautiful farmhouse not only provided all the accommodations needed for an enjoyable vacation (fully stocked kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, dining area, and a combo reading/living room) but it is located in the perfect setting. Mount Adams stands out north of the farmhouse (climbing trailhead 45 min. drive); the Town of Trout Lake is only a 5 min drive away with a gas station, store, USFS Ranger Station, sports bars, etc. The Columbia River Gorge is a 30 min drive to the south. We found the local roads provided great bide riding, hundreds of miles of great hiking trails are close at hand, cave exploring, fishing, river rides, and the list goes on. Back to the farmhouse! Besides having great accommodations, it also has very interesting antiques and the yard surrounding the farmhouse offers a covered outbuilding for dinners, fire pit (firewood provided), horse shoe pit, large mowed yard, scattered seating, antique farm equipment, and much more. This Craftsman farmhouse offers cover porches which our group very much enjoyed at the end of the day. Our seven day visit passed by very quickly. Genevieve was a great host and our group very much wants to return next year."

  • Great Family Home

"This home is set up beautifully for families. There are plenty of beds, games and activities to keep all ages happy. The kitchen is stocked nicely with pantry staples. The only complaint I have is the pots and pans are not up to standard for my cooking! Everything stuck to the pans!! We stayed here because of the uniqueness of the bridge and rail traffic. It added a whole new element of adventure for my husband and 4 children. Even though the tracks run fairly close to the home, you don't hear trains inside because they are moving so fast, and never blow their horns(unless your children are encouraging them from atop the bridge!) The home has a gorgeous view of the gorge, and we never saw the caretaker, even though his home is right next to the main house. We drove the 30 minute drive to Hood River and spent the day doing the Mt. Hood Railroad, Polar Express, Andrews Pizza, Air Museum, and Fruit Loop. It is a pet friendly home, with a basket by the front door with pet supplies, towels to wipe paws, and what not. We didn't bring our dog, but it was very thoughtful."

  • Cozy, rustic cabin on the White Salmon River

"This is the perfect place to enjoy the sights and sounds of the White Salmon River. We loved eating by candlelight on the screened in porch, reading on the deck, and watching the rafters during the day! This is a beautiful spot close to great hiking and biking trails, orchards and vineyards, and picturesque towns."
