  • Great Gedtaway

"My daughter and I spent July 17th and 18th at the cabin. Very peaceful and quiet. Was able to unwind and get away from traffic and city noises. Everything you need is in the cabin. Bring your food and drinks. One suggestion Roger. The bbq you provide is pretty flimsy. We were afraid that it may fall over. Thatr would be the only complaint I have. May be bringing my wife in the fall for a getaway. Thanks for the nice accomodations."

  • Great Vintage Bungalow

"We have been Bungalow fans for many years, so staying in Wauna House was a real delight. The home embodies the classic elements of Craftsman-style 30’s construction with some modern upgrades and improvements. The home is tastefully decorated, beds and other furnishings are comfortable and in good condition. Kitchen is well stocked with flatware, dishes and cookware. We found everything we needed and more. The appliances all work fine (including the washer/dryer), and the vintage range is terrific. The front porch is the place to be in the late afternoon, watching the world go by, and the two decks at the back of the house are great for morning coffee (one is accessed from the master bedroom). Wauna House is situated on a quiet residential street (low traffic) and all the locals were friendly. In addition to the house itself, we really appreciated the convenience of having everything so close. The grocery store is only a couple of blocks away, and the central business area is an easy walk. There are great pubs and restaurants within minutes of Wauna House. We’re both fishing and wine enthusiasts, and there are several wineries just a short drive from White Salmon. There are many fishing spots nearby, as well. Our stay at Wauna House provided us with a clean, comfortable, and convenient base for all our explorations and activities. This was one of our very best vacations! We stayed 10 days, and it was hard to leave a place that was beginning to feel like home. We would highly recommend Wauna House and we plan to stay there again. Soon!"

  • Perfect Stay

"We thoroughly enjoyed our extended stay in this cozy home in Bingen, Wa. Denise is very friendly, helpful, and hospitable. We highly recommend a stay here! The house has many great updates- very nice kitchen, bathroom, washer & dryer, satellite television, dvd player, and wifi. The kitchen is stocked with everything needed to make a nice meal to be enjoyed in warm weather out on the deck. The yard has undergone a major renovation and it is beautiful. Again, the large deck is a peaceful place to enjoy the gorgeous views and drink a cup of coffee or glass of wine. Staying in Bingen/White Salmon (a quick 5 minute trip across the bridge) is a great alternative to downtown Hood River. There are many excellent restaurants- Henni’s and Everybody’s Brewing in White Salmon. Bingen has Taqueria El Rinconcito Express, Mugs Coffee, Dicky’s Farm Store, and several more restaurants. The Farm Store carries many local wines, produce, and freshly baked pies & donuts. The Feast Store in White Salmon also has a nice selection of local and organic products some of which we don’t have in Portland. If you have a chance visit AniChe Cellars, Syncline, and Domaine Pouillon Wineries. Dog Mountain is a great hike with an awesome summit view. The trains run often, in our opinion it adds to the charm and it’s easily tolerated. Our young kids loved it and would run to windows to catch a glimpse. We have great memories of our stay here and look forward to coming back again soon."

  • Good times to be had!!!

"My (large) family rented this property for the Thanksgiving weekend and everyone was so happy with the house! Every year our family gets together for the holiday and for the first time we were all able to be under one roof. The home was comfortable with so much space. There was a ping pong table, cards, and board games. There is no wifi or cable television but we used a wireless hotspot to catch a few football games. The kitchen and dining was wonderful. There was no problem getting a thanksgiving dinner for 31 served on time along with several other large meals for our group. Extra tables and chairs were available and Ann even bought a turkey roasting pan for our use. We did go into Stevenson for some shopping and took the kids to the nearby Bonneville fish hatchery. There is a market in Stevenson for supply runs too. The outside was secluded and the views were spectacular. Our stay went by too fast and we left with so many great memories. Can't wait to come back!!!"
