  • Love at First Sight

"I am scrambling for words on where to begin. In the many years I have traveled, I have been so many vacation rentals. The Husum House was the most beautiful and most enjoyable I have ever stayed in. It is such a beautiful and bright house and it's evident that the owners geniunely love it. The clean crisp air , the beautiful Husum River nearby, the wonderful comfortable beds, blaqkberries and plums, the cleanliness and organization of this house were it's highlights. We loved discovering the hidden swing in the pine tree which was a delight for my young children. My five year old daughter welled up several times knowing we would someday have to leave the house. I could tell she was in love with it as much as I was. It's a difficult house to leave because it's so lovely and we felt so at home in it. Staying in Husum , WA was perfect as it wasn't far from Hood River and still in a quiet place. My parents and entire family loved our stay here and hopefully we will return soon. Thank you for everything Matt and Pam!"

  • Great Gedtaway

"My daughter and I spent July 17th and 18th at the cabin. Very peaceful and quiet. Was able to unwind and get away from traffic and city noises. Everything you need is in the cabin. Bring your food and drinks. One suggestion Roger. The bbq you provide is pretty flimsy. We were afraid that it may fall over. Thatr would be the only complaint I have. May be bringing my wife in the fall for a getaway. Thanks for the nice accomodations."

  • Ringing in the New Year

"We stayed at the lovely Bluff House for the 2011 New Year weekend. The views are "GORGE"OUS! It was clear skies every day -- views of sparkling waters, bald eagles, and snowy peaks really takes your breath away. The house was built beautifully, and was quite comfortable/roomy (we were 2 couples). Heated tile was a definite nice touch. The water pressure is delightful. I want that kitchen faucet! And there are two flat screens with cable. So, we were able to watch the Huskies finish their season with a victory against the Cornhuskers! And the Hawks beat the Rams! Quite exciting football weekend!! The house is close to town, which has a good amount of stores for any necessities. The is a grocery store has just about everything you'll need. And actually, I can't sleep without a fan...we went to the hardware store, and they had a fan/heater for under $15. I was pretty shocked I was able to find a fan in January in such a small town. They also have restaurants & bars if interested. We really enjoyed our stay, and will most likely rent the house again in the future. (Probably in a warmer month though!) If you want outstanding views of the Columbia River, have the comforts of home (and then some), and just have a wonderfully, relaxing time...definitely check this place out! Some Drawbacks: - No blinds on the windows in the main room (yet -- builder plans to install some, if not already)...the sun can get a little bright (but hey, natural heating). - We set off the fire alarm a couple times (don't broil anything in the oven & you'll be golden). - Hot tub does not stay warm with the lid completely off (I suggest only opening it halfway, keeps the heat in!) -- builder mentioned plans of making a covered area in the future. - It's near the road & train tracks (you can't hear the road at all -- but the train goes by frequently & you can hear it. BUT it does NOT whistle near the house)."

  • Adorable cottage walking distance to downtown White Salmon

"My family and I stayed here in July. The location was perfect for a family reunion just a few blocks away, river rafting at Zoller's out of BZ Corners, hiking Dog Mountain (about 15 miles West), hiking Catherine Creek (about 5 miles East) and more hikes and exploring Hood River. The cottage was absolutely adorable, eclectic and clean as a whistle. It was walking distance to a grocery store and downtown White Salmon. Great time!"
