"My husband and two year old twins arrived on a beautiful, sunny day. We were instantly drawn around the cabin exploring the ins and outs. We spent hours on the beach throwing rocks in the water, swimming, playing in the sandbox, and swinging in the hammock. We cooked all our meals at the cabin and were never in need of anything (dishes to well-stocked pantry). We loved watching the eagles, seals, heron, and sea gulls searching out their breakfast as the sun came up behind the cabin. As the day ended, the sun set directly in front of us every night, and we played cards by chandelier light until 10pm! We also ventured to Staircase for a hike and loved being so close. Our last day, my mom came and picked up the kids and we were able to sneak away to Alderbrook for a massage. It was perfect! Also, when the power went out due to a brush fire across the canal from the cabin, Kathy was quick to call and text providing us with the information we needed to be safe and comfortable. Thank you Kathy and Darrel for sharing your slice of heaven on Hood Canal. We will be back!"

"We just loved this house for our Family Reunion. I must say the house/ Inn was perfect with every bedroom and the very detail bathrooms were perfect. Every night we had an amazing sunset and view off the porch. We had all our meals on the porch with room to spare. The kitchen was huge, so all of us could help each other make all the meals. You have two sitting rooms and a large dinning room too. There is also a room down stairs for the kids to play.
Kathy greeted all of us and gave us the tour of this amazing home. Kathy and Gil worked hard to restore and furnish this amazing place. WELL DONE!
You can walk down to town and there's a play ground just down the hill from the house. BTW, there wasn't a TV in the house, but there is a piano and a CD player that we took out on the porch. Any family would love this place."

"I agree with the last reviewer, this is a little slice of heaven. I often am disappointed by "get away cabins" because they turn out to be on a busy street and are very close to other houses. This cabin really is quiet and you can hear the river when you open the windows or sit on the large beautiful deck. There were 3 small vases of gorgeous flowers, wonderful linens and very clean. I usually bring extra knives and kitchen towels, etc since the supply is rarely adequate. This place has more than you can possibly use. Very good TV/DVD and small stereo system with excellent speakers. The only problem is that there are so many things to see in the area we didn't spend as much time as I would have liked just hanging and enjoying the place. Highly recommended!"
