  • Quiet retreat

"Neighborhood was extremely quiet. And a walk down to the water quite invigorating. Even with the airport next door I think only 3 plans landed all week and the noise was hardly noticeable. Surprised there wasn't a teapot to be found but thankful and appreciative of the other stock items the house had on hand for us to use. Only draw back was it was a drive to go anywhere. Sequim proper is at least 15-20 minute drive away. Seems like the town should be Blyn not Sequim."

  • Cozy and comfortable

"We took our 3 kids for a 5 day stay at this quaint cabin. It has everything you need to enjoy a relaxing stay. The beds are all comfortable. The lake is beautiful. It is a great chance to get away from city life and enjoy some peace and quiet. Loved our time away. Would definitely return to this cabin again."

  • Sanctuary in the rain forest

"For my birthday I decided that I wanted to visit the Olympic Peninsula and specifically the rain forest. I was so thrilled to have found HVH! Its a cozy house nestled in the woods about 12 miles south of Forks, WA. It is very remote. The owner has fully equipped this house, so there is very little you need to bring other than clothes, food and of course your personal items. It has 2 bedrooms with twin beds in one, and a queen in another. We slept on the queen and it was a wonderful mattress! Usually in rental houses you get beaten down, old, uncomfortable ones that hurt your back. Not this one. It was truly a really nice mattress and we both slept well while we were there. The house is fully stocked. It has games, movies, magazines galore, a highchair, rain ponchos, rain boots, umbrellas, extra leash for your dog, doggy bags, shoe dryers, fridge, microwave, coffee pot, all kitchen items necessary, towels and extra towels, washer/dryer and more. Quite well equipped for a small home. The yard hosts a firepit, wood, and a lighted gazebo with a bbq grill so one can sit out on a nice evening and enjoy a cookout or just a fire. There is also a play toy for the kids! And lots of room for your small dog to run around. The best thing about it though is the location. As I mentioned, it is very remote and so very quiet. There are a mile of trails in the woods around this home and they are well maintained. Walking through these trails, one experiences the majesty of the rain forest in all of its glory. There really isn't a reason to drive to the Hoh Rain Forest from here and pay the park fees to see that. You can experience the rain forest perfectly just by visiting Hoh Valley Hideaway. I highly recommend it."

  • Absolutely the BEST!!

"I have had the pleasure of being a repeat client at Sand Castlemore, because it truly is my favorite get-away vacation by far - and I am a well-traveled individual. I have never encountered the degree of detail to clients' comforts anywhere else in my travels! I can't emphasize enough what a pleasurable and beautiful experience it is to decompress at this beautiful home. Sand Castlemore offers impeccable cleanliness; spectacular views of the beach and ocean; a luxurious hot tub steps outside the dining room for amazing star lit evenings; a comfy fireplace for cool nights; games, books, magazines, DVD's for family nights; flashlights, beach towels, washer and dryer, firewood/kindling for campfires on the beach, soft, cuddly blankets; every special touch you could desire for pets - dog beds, sheets, towels, clean-up bags, and even 3 (THREE!) different kinds of treats! In addition, it is stocked with high end pots/pans/silverware/dishes/utensils; barware (there's a whole cabinet of glassware containing martini, wine, shot, beer and anything else glasses that you would need for a classy get together;paper products for the beach; baby/toddler dishes. They also provide free coffee, sugar/substitutes, tea, first-aid products, antacids, ibuprofen, etc., etc., etc. The hosts have thought of everything you would desire to make it the best vacation experience you've ever had. There are many places to choose in Moclips, but this one is truly the best. Sand Castlemore has an unobstructed view to the north and west, which is rare in that area. It is steps away from the huge beach and a walk away from one of the best dining experiences at the Ocean Crest Resort, if you don't feel like cooking. There are many other dining options close by, as well as leisure/entertainment activities. I can't emphasize enough that you will not regret staying here! Enjoy your stay - you will definitely return. :-)"
