"We stayed at Thorndyke Lodge for several days and thoroughly enjoyed it. The location is great - far enough away from everything to feel secluded, but a relatively short drive to all the attractions in the area. The view is beautiful. We were lucky enough to see a submarine pass by in the Hood Canal, and another evening a bald eagle flew right over our heads.
The kitchen has everything you could possibly need to cook a variety of different meals. We loved having a huge dining room table so everyone could eat together, and also loved having the nice large patio to sit outside and enjoy the surroundings.
Everything (including bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms) was very clean, which we appreciated. Also because it is secluded it is quiet and peaceful. I give it two thumbs up for a great stay!"

"We (2 adults and our 9 year old son) booked the house from Germany. First big +: booking, information communication and access to the house worked flawless. VRBO App useful.
The house itself met/exceeded the description and our expectations. Stunning views, well equipped kitchen with everything you need (including sharp knives :)). Master bedroom with luxurious bath room is top. I would appreciate if you could darken the room a little more. As I read about this in other reviews I took the sleeping mask from the plane. That solved the matter. 2nd bedroom is not too big.
Everything else was just perfect. The beech, the kayaks, BBQ, W-LAN, Hot Tub, ....... .
If you look for a secluded vacation home to get away from almost everything, this is the place to be. I would say that in the week we stayed there we saw more seals than we saw people on the beach.
We can definitely recommend the house and would love to come back. Unfortunately it is an awful long trip."

"We rented the home for a family vacation on the Olympic Peninsula (adults, children, grandchildren) and there was plenty of room for us all. The grandchildren especially loved the bonus room and exploring the landscaped grounds. The kitchen as well as the rest of the house was well equipped. The views from the sun room and bedrooms were spectacular. The views of sunrise were beautiful, just very early in summer in the northwest. Make sure that you are an early riser as there are no blinds in the bedrooms and the floor to ceiling windows face east!"

"My husband and I enjoyed this home for three months, and all of our experiences with the home and the owner were positive!. Upon our arrival, we noticed that the home was very clean, and each room was well-stocked (ex: cookware, dish and laundry soap, paper towels, bedding, cleaning supplies, and even some food staples) with more items than one would expect. Each day, we admired the beautiful mountain views and the brilliant sunsets while lounging in the dining and living rooms or sitting outside on the wraparound deck. This spring brought a variety of birds at the many bird feeders outside the house: woodpeckers, chickadees, robins, hummingbirds, and bluejays--to name just a few! The Camelia bush was packed with lush pink blossoms already in February. Daffodils, tulips, violets and many flowering perennial bushes showed off their colors between mid to late-March. My husband and I babysat our two toddler grandchildren a couple days each week. The Olympic home is one of the last homes on top the hill, and the road down to the highway provided a safe walking path for us with the grandkids. We defintely look forward to renting from Marion, the homeowner, again!"
