  • Entire Family Retreat!

"I knew we had done the right thing in choosing the Eagles Nest the moment I opened the door and walked into the place. SPOTLESS and NO SMELLS! The tremendous Pacific was right there, we really could reach out and touch it. I “watched” the Ocean as I never have before. This trip was for Dad. Dad built a home across the street in the 70’s and we all enjoyed many, many years coming to Moclips making the best of all the grand Pacific and Moclips has to offer. Surf fishing, clamming, the walks either the Solitude ones or with family, friends and spouses-the memories are still there and now with this trip behind us another wonderful chapter in the Moclips book closes, to be remembered forever. Dad is 88, says he will never be back as he lives in Yuma now and calls that home. I have to tell you there is nothing like watching your parent as he sits at the window seat in the Eagles Nest (there’s like 18 of them) and looks out at the Pacific as he nears lifes end, and know that he is remembering all those years gone by and the time spent at this wonderful beach. There is nothing better and I wouldn’t have had us anywhere else but at the Eagles Nest. We lived as royalty in this wonderful home and cannot wait for a return trip to Moclips, and the Eagles Nest: nothing can compare."

  • Spectacular view

"We chose this house for a girls' weekend in October 2014. The house sits on a bluff above the ocean, and when the sun is shining you can see the water and the beach with its mountains of driftwood. Even in the mist, you can hear the waves crashing on the shore. We used the fire pit at night and the super comfortable wooden Adirondack chairs with arms wide enough to hold a glass of wine. Ate breakfast and dinner outside because we were blessed with sunny, warm days. When we arrived, the house was spotlessly clean inside. We made use of the oven and the outdoor propane grill, making the fairly remote locations work just fine for us for evening and morning meals. Kitchen is nicely stocked with pots and pans, plenty of mugs and dishes. The area around the cabin is lovely. It was an easy walk to the beach and there were so many beautiful rocks and pieces of driftwood to enjoy. We were close enough to Kalaloch Lodge to go there for dinner one night, but I don't recommend it. It was fine but super expensive. A couple of negatives that you can remedy with your own supplies. I suggest taking bottled water with you as the water at the cabin has a rusty, metallic taste to it. Probably not a health risk at all, just not the sweet, refreshing water you might prefer. There is a tiny old TV in the upstairs family room. We wanted to watch Twilight movies, or some of us did, so they brought a lightweight flat screen TV to the cabin. Also there is no internet access and (with AT&T) you only get bars if you stand out at the edge of the bluff. There is a house phone, but it is only for emergencies. All interactions with the owners were good. Highly recommend this over hotels, motels in the area. We had a great weekend, and the accommodations contributed to that."

  • Beautiful fall colors on Lake Leland

"Thank you for such a lovely stay at your vacation home. The fall colors and beauty of the lake were just what we needed for our getaway. My favorite part was to wake up early, hop into the hot tub with my coffee and look out at the beautiful lake. The home was very comfortable for our family of six. Great value!"
