  • Hidden gem in Washington!

"What a fabulous place to stay!! We happened upon the lavender farm by chance a few years ago and vowed to return and stay in the rental home someday. So glad we did!! On our arrival we were welcomed with fresh flowers in the house and a heated jacuzzi on the back deck. There is plenty to do in the area (we recommend the kayaking), but you may be tempted to stay home one of the days, just to relax and soak up the atmosphere of the lavender farm. The home itself is thoughtfully appointed with cozy comfort in mind. Everything worked perfectly and our visit was everything we hoped for. A perfect vacation!!"

  • Breath taking and enjoyable everytime we visit.

"This is becoming 'our' beach house. We've visited each year for the past 4 years. It's always hard to tear ourselves away. But we know there is always a next visit to look forward to. The house is set up so it's easy to leave the sand outside. We always bring our bikes and kayaks to enjoy the neighborhood up close and personal. The large downstairs garage / store room with roll up doors at front and back make it easy to either take the boats to the water or jump on our bikes and head out for a ride. Our grand kids delight in having the beach at the front door and a safe place to ride their bikes just out the back. The lighthouse is only about 2 miles away across generally calm waters. A two mile paddle is much easier, weather permitting, than a 5 mile scramble each way on the beach to experience the views from the lighthouse that has lit the area since 1857. This Spring the birds of choice were countless bald eagles, both immature and mature. Then there are the two Killdeer nesting in the backyard. We were sure to check their four eggs every time we went to the beach as they were only about 6 feet from the trail. Hundreds of Brandts stopped by at low tide and added to the sonic background. Did I mention the distant rooster calls, mourning doves, owls, gulls, crows and dozens of other species that come here to court, layover, refuel or raise their young? Or the birders with their scopes and cameras along the roads and beaches? I'm not a bird watcher but that's not really an option here. The days start with dawn breaking on the fields, foothills and Olympics to the south as the sun rises over the Cascades. Then you turn around and look out the picture window to the north and there's Mount Baker, the San Juan Islands, the early morning bird life, views of the spit and the lighthouse and marine vessel traffic just a couple of miles off across the water. The immediate shoreline is an ever changing vista as the tides role up to the logs and then out to reveal thousands of acres of tide flats. This year we took our rubber boots and saw what lives under the sea at low tide. Close by must see destinations are the Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge (in any season and most weather) or the tide pools at Salt Creek and the views from Hurricane Ridge, time and weather permitting. Nash's Farm Store, just down the road, is a refreshing throw back to the sixties with excellent organic produce and dairy and other local products."

  • Nice get away house

"Our family and two other families celebrated Thanksgiving and spend wonderful days in that house. The house was clean and ready for us and owners were responding to our questions through the phone right away and did everything for our stay to be comfortable. Lots of outdoor activities nearby for those who preferred them or just a cozy time inside of the house equipped with anything you need. No one wanted to leave. Thank you for sharing your house with us!"

  • Awesome family place

"If you've got a large group & want to stay together, this is the place for you! We had 10 people (ages 11-1/2 months to 74) & never felt cramped. Lots of space to eat, play games, watch TV (who has time for that????), etc. Sitting in the hot tub as the sun set -- breathtaking! Kitchen was super well equipped. Clean, spacious -- everything we could wish for."
