  • Port Ludlow home

"Wow! I stepped into the house (No! This was a warm, monumental HOME!) and immediately I see a huge ship passing before me down the straits heading for the Pacific Ocean. What a view. I sit on the cozy padded couch, turn on the fireplace, continue to gaze at the everchanging panorama : eagles, sea gulls in the air and killer whales in the water drifting by along with various ships...and no people. It is so pleasant and relaxing that I doze. Yes, it was that relaxing to me and my wife. I awoke, galvanized by this home, made cocktails, sipped and cooked a sumpuous dinner (the kitchen is fully decked out with utensils, dishes, lighting, with music in the background. We crept back to a very comfortable, spacious bedroom and slept the night away and woke early to one of the most gorgeous sun rises I have ever seen...Hawaii, eat your heart out. We enjoyed the surrounding grounds as we did leisurely walks, swam in the area indoor pool, reveled in drives around the area: Port Townsend with great stores and restaurants, Port Gamble, got a quick nine holes of golf...but really looked forward to getting back to our home away from home so that we could relax, read, doze, ogle the skyline and ever present view, cook, read, view, sleep, eat..............plain old RELAX! I plan on returning to this outstanding retreat. Thank you so much for such a wonderful place and location and all the amenities that you have to offer. Bob Lycan"

  • Excellent

"This is the second time we've stayed at the lodge and have very much enjoyed the location and the lodge. It's on the Sol Duc, close to other rivers, within 30 minutes of the coast, and a plethora of hiking/fishing/boating opportunities. The lodge itself has most everything you need...pots, pans, knives, roasters, kettles and bowls. Bring what you might feel as essential, but the rest is there. The management company and owner are extremely responsive and helpful. They want your stay to be first class, and they do their job. We'll be back again."

  • Fantastic Townhome - Great Location!!

"The condo is very spacious and has all the comforts of home - you can tell it is not just a rental and is, instead, a retreat for the owners as well. With the 2 bedrooms and full bath downstairs, there is tons of space in the upstairs for the living/kitchen/half bath. The building only has 3 units in it (this one being an end unit) with a sister building of another 3 units next to it, so it's not one of those massive developments and it is in a very quiet neighborhood just a few blocks from the main drag in Long Beach which made walking to to the delicious Cottage Bakery everyday too easy. The building sits at a bit of a perpendicular angle to the coast, so the living room deck looks across the dunes and part of the ocean while the patio off the master bedroom (as well as the kitchen window) looks over the dunes towards the main Bolstad beach approach. There are screens on the patio/windows, so we were able to leave them open and enjoy the sounds of the ocean while lounging in the living room. The walk to the beach and/or discovery trail is very short and just past the condo as it is near the end of a dead end road shortly before the discovery trail. We were even treated to deer wandering through the neighborhood on more than one occasion during our stay. Corresponding and booking with the owner was easy and pleasant. You really cannot go wrong with this rental."

  • Play it Again Sam

"This was my second time at the cottage. Again, not a single disappointment. Clean, well kept - perfect. Hoodsport is close enough for a trip to the market and Port Townsend is just about an hour away for a day trip. The seals on the raft are perfect neighbors, and the beach is literally "littered" with delicious oysters. The location is beautiful, serene, and the perfect antidote to a stressed out life. Will definitely visit again."
