  • Perfect Home for the Holidays

"Originally from Quilcene, our family (Me, Husband, and 2 boys aged 7 and 11) moved to Bahrain 21/2 years ago and we return to the area for Summer and Christmas holidays every year. With extended family living in Port Townsend and the surrounding area we needed a home away from home in order to be close. Happy Valley Cottage was a perfect Home for the Holidays over Christmas 2014. Warm, cozy, comfortable, and perfectly located. We had about 20 friends and family over for Christmas brunch and the house had everything we needed to cook for, serve, and entertain the gang. The house is brilliantly layed out, clean, and cute as a button. Chuck met us when we arrived, checked up on us after a wind storm, and we knew he was close by if we needed him but was never intrusive. We cannot gush enough about how happy we were at Happy Valley Cottage!"

  • Wonderful, cozy home.

"We love to visit the Olympic Peninsula and this home was perfect. Clean and comfortable and in the middle of all there is to see and do along the coast. It was a great place to unwind after scouring the beach for treasures. This is a place we would recommend to all who are visiting the Forks area. Thank You for providing a great home."

  • Wonderful memories

"You will fall in love with this place. My wife, my three-year-old and I had a wonderful stay at this charming little cottage. It is set on a beautiful property with farm animals, peaceful surroundings and an incredible scenery. Darin is a wonderful and welcoming host. He set up the fire pit before we arrived, brought out an electric truck for our son to ride on and was a pleasure to talk to all along. Darin's place is close enough to Port Angeles if you need to make a quick grocery stop and just moments away from spectacular hikes, but if you're like my family, you'll probably just want to stay at the cottage the whole deal and just absorb it all. Thanks again for a wonderful stay, Darin. We truly had a great time here and hope we can come again!"

  • Wonderful Surprise

"What a fantastic way to celebrate a 45th birthday. The cabin was exactly what we needed. Extremely clean, well-stocked with every kitchen gadget needed, comfortable clean furniture and big windows to let in the sunshine. We had hoped for something right on the beach but this beat out all other cabins we looked at. You can see the water from the front window and front deck and hear the crashing of the waves. The only thing better than the clean, adorable cabin and view/sounds of the ocean is the owner; Mary. What a treasure. From communicating and offering up things to do in and around Moclips, to the extra care put into making the cabin special for the 45th birthday, it truly felt like a home away from home. We would continue to go back for the location and comfort of the cabin but you add Mary into the mix and it is an absolute guarantee. Our dilemma now is how many times a year and how much do we want to share with others. Selfishly we would like to keep the cabin our little secret. Mary - thank you so much for your hospitality and helping make our stay one we will cherish. You and your husband are wonderful people and we look forward to seeing you in the near future."
