  • Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful

"This property was perfect for what we needed. It was beautiful, and loaded with warmth and charm. The home came furnished with everything that we needed. We played games and laughed. The owner was great, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. We came from out of state and she made everything very easy. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience. When we ever need a home again in Port Angeles Washington, we will definitely call you again. Thanks for the snow!!!!!"

  • Amazing property!! Would LOVE to go back!!

"We recently stayed at Lake Lodge with a group of nine people (four adults, five children). Staff immediately set up extra beds so everyone had a comfortable place to sleep, there were plenty of linens for everyone. This amazing property was GREAT for a family vacation, but with the privacy would also be ideal for a romantic getaway. We all had so much fun hiking to the lake, soaking in the hot tub, playing on the basketball court, visiting the animals, playing pool, and just enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Property is private and secure, yet close to town for shopping and sight seeing. Staff and owners were extremely friendly and helpful! Absolutely recommend!"

  • I wanted to stay forever.

"Just got back from a long girls' weekend at the Big Red Barn, and I couldn't be more pleased. The location was excellent, right along the bluff above the beach. The grounds are so peaceful and relaxing with the sound of the fountain just outside the door. The bed is very comfortable; the bathroom is amazing. Clearly, these folks are interested in their guests' comfort, providing all the little extras from juice and muffins, informative albums about the area, beach towels, etc. Dealing with the reservations, etc. could not have been simpler and more pleasant. The review from four years ago is clearly an error, a review of a different property altogether, not just because I disagree, but this property has no upstairs/downstairs or adjacent neighbors through the walls. This is a stand-alone building, well-maintained and well managed."

  • Great writing retreat

"Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I've stayed at Captain's Hideaway before, and was once again delighted with the cleanliness, location, and amenities. You can see the breakers from the living room windows, so I parked in a chair and watched the storms roll through. When the skies cleared, I took long walks along the Discovery Trail--finishing up with a stop at the Cottage Bakery for some homemade goodness. This is a great size for a small family, with living areas up and both bedrooms down. There's also privacy without isolation, which is great if you're traveling solo, as I was this trip. Manager responded on 12/17/2014: It is wonderful to have you back Jennifer and we are delighted you enjoyed another stay with Bloomer, Captains Hideaway is a great place to enjoy all the perks of our small community and we look forward to your next visit. Thank You Chandy,GM"
