  • The Perfect Ocean Beach Getaway Rental"

"I was incredibly lucky (due to a cancellation at the last minute) to get the very last available room in Ocean Shores on a super-busy, summer weekend and booked a room at the Nautilus. The owners were helpful, gracious and professional in helping me arrange my stay. The room, with its sweeping view of the ocean and dunes, is also graced with a full balcony and corner window with no other signs of civilization in sight (windows, people, cars, signs, etc)- so the entire panoramic view is nothing but pure, natural, Pacific beach beauty. It felt SO private and calm, and all we could hear were the breakers and seabirds. Loved that!! Also, the room was extremely comfortable, clean and well appointed. For the two of us, it felt like home for our brief stay. I will *most definitely* come back and stay again. I've stayed at the other, big-ticket hotels and inns in Ocean Shores many times before, and the Nautilus felt much more intimate and serene, which is why I come to see the Pacific in the first place. Awesome experience! Thank you."

  • Little Slice of Beach Heaven

"We loved Hazel's and I would go back in a minute. We spent four days and allowed our daughters to bring friends for the first time. The kids loved it and wished we could have stayed longer. We were steps from the beach and could see the kids from the deck when they were on the beach. Perfect for our dog. Hard to find a good place that will take dogs. House was clean and neat. I would agree with the other August reviewer that something needs to be done about the WiFi or it should not be listed as a service. We have T-mobile and were told that T-Mobile and Sprint do not work in Moclips. (We didn't get service again until Aberdeen). WiFi was spotty at best and not reliable. I could not call, but could receive email. We had car issues and had to use the phone at the motel. Since there is no house phone, the WiFi issue needs some attention. The kitchen is not equipped for gourmet cooking, but for simple things it was fine. (and simple is what I wanted on vacation!). We brought simple things and enjoyed the beach. Agree the pillows need replacing and we were not given sheets for the hide-a bed, but used the ones left out to cover the furniture due to our dog. One bed was great, the other kind of squishy so we gave that to the kids. Wish the deck had a gate at the stairs to keep dog on deck. Overall, we loved it. It is quiet and peaceful. Lots of room to walk. We were not looking for entertainment, but a chance to unwind and play. The listing had said there was a futon in the living room along with the pull out, but there was not when we got there. It worked out okay and I see the description has now been changed. The hide-a bed needs to be replaced, but I've never slept on one that is comfortable!! The house is decorated with such care and fun touches. Wish the kitchen table would seat 6 since you can sleep six, but we just had two of us sit at the bar. The hot tub was wonderful as it was cool outside during our visit. There needs to be a net or way to skim extra sand out of it. We tried very hard, but sand still ended up in it. The rental folks were all wonderful. Made this very easy. I would say our experience was 98% positive and we would return. Just please fix the WiFi and we would be so happy to come back (probably would anyway!). Perfect spot for us. So enjoyed our stay. Know that larger stores are not close by. The Country Store is good in a pinch, but expensive and more like a gas station hop in market."

  • Port Ludlow home

"Wow! I stepped into the house (No! This was a warm, monumental HOME!) and immediately I see a huge ship passing before me down the straits heading for the Pacific Ocean. What a view. I sit on the cozy padded couch, turn on the fireplace, continue to gaze at the everchanging panorama : eagles, sea gulls in the air and killer whales in the water drifting by along with various ships...and no people. It is so pleasant and relaxing that I doze. Yes, it was that relaxing to me and my wife. I awoke, galvanized by this home, made cocktails, sipped and cooked a sumpuous dinner (the kitchen is fully decked out with utensils, dishes, lighting, with music in the background. We crept back to a very comfortable, spacious bedroom and slept the night away and woke early to one of the most gorgeous sun rises I have ever seen...Hawaii, eat your heart out. We enjoyed the surrounding grounds as we did leisurely walks, swam in the area indoor pool, reveled in drives around the area: Port Townsend with great stores and restaurants, Port Gamble, got a quick nine holes of golf...but really looked forward to getting back to our home away from home so that we could relax, read, doze, ogle the skyline and ever present view, cook, read, view, sleep, eat..............plain old RELAX! I plan on returning to this outstanding retreat. Thank you so much for such a wonderful place and location and all the amenities that you have to offer. Bob Lycan"

  • Last minute trip

"We were fortunate enough to get this place on a last minute booking. Within an hour our phone call was returned and we were ready to go. James made the booking process simple. We arrived to find a bottle of wine for us and treats for the dog on the counter. The entire place was spotless and well furnished. We only used the king bed, it has quality bedding and was very comfortable. We cooked four meals in the kitchen and everything we needed was there. I have booked places through VRBO 7-8 times and this is by far the highest quality and most reasonably priced place we've found. I will book it for all trips to the coast in the future. The only thing missing is direct beach access from the back door."
