"First, I would like to thank Katherine and Al for their gracious hospitality during April 2015. “Wow” as my wife said. My wife and I celebrated our second year anniversary and yes, our honeymoon at the same time. We spent 10 nights visiting many cities and I left Seattle for the last few evenings. I am originally from Seattle and knew what to expect from the Puget Sound.
The views of Seattle in the morning and especially in the evening are so spectacular. Viewing the Puget Sound with the binoculars (two sets) was even more surreal from the living room. Waking up with your loved one with the sunshine and vivid blue sky was heart breaking. In the master bedroom, we felt connected to our surroundings.
Being one that goes to sleep late, I wandered the house reading some of the books about Bainbridge Island. There are two books on the piano, but I read one in particular that shared the rich history of Bainbridge Island late into the wee hours. Each member of your family would enjoy the historic photos and hearing the ringleader of the house reading the history of this island.
We took a two-mile walk around the house and my wife was a happy butterfly being able to experience what the Rising Moon Beach House has to offer. During our walk, she totally enjoyed the experience of seeing old Western Red Cedars and Fir trees surrounding the island, beautiful homes that all complimented each other and especially Katherine’s & Al’s hospitality and home made this a five star experience.
I received “The” blessing from My Wife that she would like to relocate to the Seattle area, especially Bainbridge Island when I retire in the near future. She is already planning to build a small house on land that I purchased many years ago on the Key Peninsula. Smiles and thank you Katherine & Al.
Explore the house and experience the beauty that Katherine and Al want all to feel in your Heart and Soul. Open the book at the living room window and write about your thoughts, feelings and experience before you must go back to reality….Work. There is a special message that my wife left in the book for those that dare to experience what she is sharing. I know the message was in total bliss. This message is for all, yet I was asked not to read as this special message for you.
P.S. The pantry at the house is well equipped so be aware as I was forewarned. The house is very clean and well maintained. The landscaping in the front and back yard was impeccable."

"My daughter and I had a delightful time staying at this cottage. After flying across the country and dealing with the holiday crowds, it was nothing short of heavenly to arrive at the cottage and unlock the door to the totally charming and soothing colors, lovely and comfy furniture, and pleasing layout of the cottage. Getting up in the morning and heading down to the little shopping area to visit the wonderful bakery for fresh baked muffins, we could hear seals out on the water, something we sure never hear here in the other Washington! We had a wonderful time and hated to leave. The neighbors couldn't be nicer, and there are marvelous walks in any direction. We will definitely be back, and would have happily stayed forever! The owner and her daughter were a pleasure to deal with, and everything was just as promised."

"We booked the cottage for my son, daughter in law and young granddaughter. The proprietors could not of been more accommodating and helpful. After a 33 hours of travel, they were exhausted and this was a perfect place for them to rest. Kid friendly, spacious for a young family of three and everything you needed when you are away from home. My family got in very late (actually early the next morning) and Patricia and her husband were great about making sure the cottage was ready for them to get their wee one down for the night. Close to everything and price was very reasonable. Will definitely book there again next time we are on the island."

"This is our second and definitely not last trip to Cathy's and Bill's cottage. It is such a wonderful spot and Cathy and Bill are fantastic hosts. I love the cottage (clean, warm, inviting, water view, quiet area, stocked kitchen, washer & dryer), the garden, the proximity to Fort Ward Park and Lynwood Center and the use of the bikes. Cathy and Bill were very accommodating and willing to go out of their way to help us with anything (we got married on Bainbridge during this trip!) and give us advice. They are truly great people. We love Bainbridge Island and we love staying here. Can't wait to come back!"
