  • Excellent stay for young family on a budget!

"We had a wonderful 4 day stay here. It was comfortable for two adults and three kids. Our kids loved having the water out the back door and watching the tides go in and out. We brought our kayak and were in the water every chance we got. We loved having a fire in the fire pit a couple of different nights and watching the shooting stars. Clams and oysters were readily available and the rocky beaches provided endless rock skipping fun. It is a bit of a drive from the nearest restaurants and shopping but we brought all of our own food and the kitchen was well supplied to prepare all our meals. Only minor negative was the bottom step leading out to the water needs to be repaired. Overall one of the best vacations we have had with our young family."

  • Great Find!

"We came to Hood Canal for a family vacation - perfect house, location and beach! The house is very clean, ample room for the 8 of us to eat, play games and sleep. We had a great time here. Would recommend this VRBO most definitely!!!"

  • "I have to tell you that I came from Paris with my family for a trip on the west coast of the US…We ended by coincidence staying in hootcanal in these magic cabins have been the best time we had in the entire trip (6 weeks). We rented both cabins which made our lives so simple (we were 10).Arrival was easy: my family arrive after a beautiful 90 min drive from Seattle and my sister (a bit more adventurous) chose the ferry. Her family loved it and said it prepared them to this amazing time. When we arrived at the end of the day, we were stunned by the sunset. While the kids were running around like crazy discovering the quite big property and beach, we rested on the deck sipping an excellent Oregon red win… each deck of the cabin is a real magnet… We never got tired of watching the bay and the seals resting. One evening we saw some orcas. The owner said we were lucky ? ! The place is an amazing peaceful retreat… Everyday, we woke up with the sounds of the waves and with the view of the fjord as the first sight of the day. I can tell you that having a first sip of coffee rolled up in a blanket sitting on the deck, watching eagles was for us amazing ! The beach at the bottom of the 2 cabins are very cute and safe (oysters are amazing). We had a lot of fun with the kids there… playing card, chatting around the beach fire…In the entire trip, we hardly see them during the day. They spent a lot of playing on the beach, swimming (get some shoes though to swim because of oyster), fishing, playing in the forest and discovering the beaches around. No busy roads to get worried at all ?, nor neighbors. We had the feeling we were just the 10 of us.We enjoyed a lot the outside, but both cabins were well set up: nice fireplace, comfy armchairs to watch this unique view of the bay, great kitchen with all the ustensil you need ( have to say that as a French, I was quite amazed of all the pots and pans that this family have to cook ?…).Even if we are back in Paris, our hoot canal trip is still very vivid. We are still so enthousiastic about it that this region might see an invasion of Frenchie pretty soon"

  • Oyster & Crab Heaven...Immaculate Home!

"Wow, wow and wow! Location, location and location. This house is perfectly situated on the Hood Canal to capture incredible sunsets, catching Dungeoness Crabs, Oysters galore and catching Coho Salmon. The best part of the house was how professionally furnished the home...think pottery barn house! Nothing but the best appliances, silverware, and furniture...its the little details that caught my eye, especially being a creative art director for 25 years..that's saying a lot about this house. It had everything you can possibly imagine for cooking, and outdoor adventure. My only criticism which is very minor, is that one of the oarlocks broke on the 1st day of our stay...which left us with paddling the row boat like a canoe for the rest of the trip and also there was only 1 operational kayak. A pontoon boat or a motor on the row boat would go a long way in making this place a unbeatable vacation destination!! One last note, the neighbors here were so friendly, one of them brought over some smoked salmon that they freshly caught a few days ago...amazing!!!"
