  • Awesome!

"Wow! our vacation in Edmonds , wa. was amazing! The Serendipity Cottage exceeded all of my expectations. The Cottage was clean, quiet & comfortable. The Host were wonderful - not intrusive yet there for anything we needed. Love the " talking stool". We could leave note with question or need & John responded promptly and completely. The Views of the sound and the garden are breathtaking and relaxing. We enjoyed walking along the beach and hiking in the park just down the street. Edmonds is a beautiful little city with nice shops and places to eat, and only 20 min from Seattle. Location was perfect for our trip.I have family in Evertt and Monroe. We often stayed in hotels on previous trip to Wa. None can compare to staying at the cottage. I have found my new favorite place in Washington and we cant wait to return. Thank You John and Lauie for sharing your place & the scrumptious pie with us!"

  • Location location location!

"We recently returned from spending a month at Rising Moon Beach House, and we could have happily stayed longer. The views from every room of the house as well as the two decks are breathtaking. The house is attractive, comfortable and very clean, and Kathy and Al have gone to considerable trouble to make it a relaxing place to spend a vacation. They were very responsive to any questions or concerns that came up. We had easy access to all that Bainbridge has to offer, and the ferry made it easy and fun to go to Seattle for shopping, restaurants and a ball game. Rolling Bay, an easy walk, is a sweet little village with a café, a general store (Bay Hay and Feed), and an excellent Italian deli (Via Rosa). Just three miles away is Winslow with more restaurant and shopping options. Bainbridge has several state parks with beaches and hiking trails, and the Bloedel Reserve is a real treat. The Olympic Peninsula is nearby and worth visiting. Then again, I could have spent the whole month sitting on that deck watching the views change and the birds and ships come and go. Rising Moon gives new meaning to the idea of a relaxing vacation."

  • Beautiful

"This was my second trip to the beachfront cabin and it was even better than the first! The yard is now completely fenced so my dogs could sit on the deck and enjoy the view. Neighbours offered us fresh caught crab, and we could walk on the beach for hours when the tide was out. We shopped at the farmers markets and enjoyed lovely fresh produce. Saw lots of cranes, seals and dear. So quiet and peaceful. I shall return for sure!"

  • Great location, flexible owners

"This home could easily be amazing, but we had a mix of good and bad during our stay.. all in all the owners did everything they could to make it right and we appreciate that. For us the home was smaller than it appeared online with 4 rooms/bedrooms, the last of which was recently converted from a garage. While there are extra beds, the size of the common areas would make it difficult for more than one family to stay comfortably. This home is the guest house to the main house next door that rents for around twice as much. Our biggest disappointment was upon arrival and the home had not been cleaned, floors dirty with food spills in the kitchen, dining room and used soap and wash cloths in the shower. I spent half the first day cleaning and would've thought someone was still living there, shoes in the closet etc. The owners apologized and explained they had tried a different cleaning crew and we came to an agreement on compensation. Much of the home is older and in need of more updating, the kitchen and accessories especially, some worn furniture, carpet and peeling wallpaper etc. The tree swing outside was a favorite but the tree is obviously dead and I wonder when it'll become a hazard. Old food and used toiletries need to be removed in my opinion. While the main bedroom has beautiful views and large windows you have to use plywood covered with stapled sheets to block out the light. One of which regularly falls down. This all was very unexpected for the weekly price point. The location for us though was perfect, directly in between my family members homes, the house a much better option than the local hotels, about 45 mins to Seattle... I would've appreciated a welcome packet explaining the rules of the lake and things like grocery stores. For example, we rented jetskis and they gave my 14yo a permit, after being stopped by the boat police, we found out that Lake Sawyer has a 16 year and over requirement for personal watercraft. When I thought of this vacation more like camping, all the little things didn't matter. The lake was absolutely beautiful, my kids liked feeding the baby ducks and using the kayaks, there's a nice mix of games and movies to use, wifi and netflix. We really had a great trip and overall enjoyed our stay."
