  • The perfect family getaway!

"Our stay at Home Base was perfect! My parents were visiting from California and didn't want to stay in the big city. The house was quiet and the back yard is incredible pleasant! The house has everything you'd need for the weekend including children's toys and a doll house my youngest sister enjoyed! Thank you for the great weekend!"

"I stayed here for 10 days end of August. Originally going to be 8 but home so comfortable, relaxing, I added two days. Evi, owner, couldn't be more accomodating. Lovely person. Deer and bunnies in yard every day, so quiet & peaceful. Slept the best for long time. Bed super comfortable. Just bring your clothes, food and everything else there. Sit on deck, looking at water..heaven!"

  • Thanksgiving Treat!

"We stayed at this amazing home for 6 nights. We had a mix of friends and family for a total of 12 people on any given night. We had an infant, preschooler, high schoolers, and grandparents in the mix. We arrived late on Monday night to a well lighted and warm home. The entire house seems to have radiant floor heat which was a huge blessing to my elderly mom as she gets cold easily. There was a welcome basket from Max (caretaker) full of local goodies and brew! Max and his wife even vacated the bottom apartment to allow more sleeping space. The family with the infant used that space. The "cottage" was used by our 2 teenagers. They enjoyed having their own space. The home is amazing! Every corner holds a creative secret or interesting artifact. We could have stayed there for 2 weeks and never discovered all of it's glory. Our 3 year old grandson marveled at the train set which provided hours of entertainment. The kitchen is wonderful and fully equipped. Specifically, the gas cook top! The master bedroom mattress was the most comfortable we have ever slept in. Even when the electricity went out, we enjoyed family games by candlelight and warmth by the fireplace. Even though theweather was mostly windy and rainy (which is expected for this time of year in Washington), our teenagers still tried to brave the waters with our blow-up kayaks. This lasted about 5 minutes as the waves were pretty big and common sense prevailed. Teenagers will be teenagers. Speaking of teenagers, when the electricity was out, our teenage boys found their more primal side and started a fire in the outdoor fire pit. The sunsets were indescribable. So amazingly beautiful. Thank you Stevenson family for providing our extended family a place to be together for Thanksgiving!"

  • Home away from home!!

"My husband & I stayed @ this very lovely vrbo. We enjoyed every moment of our 1 mo. & 14 days vacation. Every thing that described the home was true to form. Gourmet/chef's delight! Every thing a gourmet chef would need was in the kitchen. Nothing missing. Beds were comfortable, and very clean, & sanitary. Walked to the beach and watched the ferry, great sunset and Mt. Rainier was a great sight to behold. Garden was a free flowing English type. My own secret garden--hummingbirds, varieties of finches and butterflies. The herb garden was an excellent source to infuse my tea w/lemon verbena. My husband recuperated speedily from a very delicate eye surgery w/the environment this lovely home gave us. The Host/Hostess were very attentive and hospitable to our every needs. Made the place something we could call Home. It met all the needs of the creature comfort of our home. Will come back and spend the whole summer here. As described, walking distance to the ferry, park, restaurants and gourmet ice cream parlors. The Saturday farmer's market was an excellent source of organic veggies & fruits. It is also a great jumping -off point for exploring the Puget/Olympic Peninsula. This place Tops it All! Becky & Jim"
