"We are a military family who needed housing for about 2 months while we waited to move into our home. This place fit our needs perfectly. It is well stocked and very spacious. The owners are helpful and quick to respond. It is located on a quiet street with very little traffic, yet close to downtown and 2 miles from Walmart and other shopping. Our kids enjoyed watching the deer and other wildlife from the back deck. We would recommend this to families or anyone else needing temporary housing."

"This property deserves a higher rating than "excellent"! My sister and I wanted a "sister retreat" and stayed at Heron's Roost for 3 nights. We quickly realized that we should have stayed at least 5 nights. Most enjoyable was the expanse of the grounds - the trails on the property, large trees that filtered sunlight/daylight, patios, quietness and much, much more. The cabin is well appointed with all the necessities anyone would need (books, games, puzzles). Don't forget your camera! Pictures of the sun rising through the trees are amazing! We will be back, as will our friends and family that have seen our photos. The town of Langley looks far away on a map, but it truly is only an easy 8 miles away. The shopkeepers in Langley were all absolutely wonderful telling us their stories about how they came to Whidbey Island. We went to local restaurants in Langley and was treated to a street performance of the "Morris Men" - all I can say is WOW and I have pictures to prove it! The owners of this property have been warm and welcoming from the time the cabin was reserved (6 months ago). I will be back and I presume the family and friends I've told about this captivating property will too! Until next time, thank you to the property owners for sharing this precious secret.

"This house was a lovely spot to relax and get away with the family for a long weekend. The small lake is great for exploring by kayak or SUP (we brought our own), starting right from the house. There was a (very loud) osprey nest in the trees nearby which we enjoyed watching, and we were able to enjoy a campfire when the fire restrictions were lifted. The hot tub was a major hit for kids (and tired mom!). The house has lots of room for everyone to relax and spread out, and overall it was comfortable and well-appointed. My 90-year old mother was with us, so it was not ideal for her because the bedrooms are all upstairs. The decks look like they need some maintenance (I was cautious with the kids around the upstairs deck railing, but otherwise it's a great place for kids). Overall I recommend a stay here if you're looking for easy access to the lake and a quiet, peaceful spot to enjoy time with friends or family."

"The cottage was the best location for our needs. We needed a place close to Lake Stevens High School where my son was participating in a Decathlon. This cottage gave us the opportunity to relax with no stress getting to the venue. The cottage was well stocked and very clean. We would definitely stay again!"
