"Ultimate "beach cottage". Couldn't ask for more in accommodations, decor, cleanliness, etc. Our problem was that my husband (85 yrs and active) could not navigate the steps over the bulkhead, maneuver through the driftwood and cross the 10 ft or so of beach rocks to get to the sandy area and the surf. Walking on the beach is a part of going to the beach. Did spend three days and enjoyed the proximity to the water, the birds and the sounds . I (age 72) was able to do a lot of exploring. All depends on what you are looking for."

"This is a wonderful place from which to explore Whidbey. It worked perfectly for us, with one adult upstairs in the master suite and myself and my two kids in the (huge!!) bedroom on the main floor. The furnishings are comfortable, it's well-appointed but very clean and serene with zero clutter. The bedrooms are quiet and private, and the big open living area is just lovely. Easy walking distance into Langley. Really, a perfect spot, we are looking forward to returning."

"Our stay at the Shipping Lanes House was fantastic. The location is awesome with the great view from the deck and big picture windows across the Pudget Sound side of the house! Four of us stayed in the house and it was very comfortable and clean. The Hawaiian and ocean décor is great. Our family came over one night and we played games in the large yard and ping-pong, fooseball (sp?) and air hockey in the garage. We were there for family events and did not have a lot of time to actually be at the house. If we did, there are many books to read and DVDs to watch, as well as many games and puzzles. There are a lot of things to do very close by and Patti and Ed have a binder full of this information. We highly recommend this house and would definitely stay again!"
