  • Great spot for a family reunion!

"Our family had a wonderful time in this beautiful, well-kept, vacation home for the second year in a row! There was room for the grandchildren to run and play, quiet places for the adults to visit, plenty of supplies, comfortable beds, cozy seating areas – both inside and outside, lovely garden paths, welcome treats such as fresh bakery bread, eggs, and orange juice, and movies galore. The hosts are very welcoming and very accommodating. They go out of their way to make sure everyone has a good time and has everything they need to be comfortable. We highly recommend this beautiful vacation retreat to anyone who wants to relax and have a great time."

  • Everthing as described and more!

"My husband and I stayed there June 19th, through June 25th, 2014. When you first walk into the house, you can't help but just stop in your tracks and stare at the most gorgeous view of Seattle! Then your sights turn to the house itself, and it is one of the most beautiful homes I have ever been in. It is decorated so professionally ~ I was taking pictures with my iphone of all the special touches throughout, to get ideas for my own home! The home and outside landscaping is immaculate! It seemed like we were the first ones to ever stay there! The owner could not have been more helpful! He was so pleasant to talk with and very accessible if you had questions about anything. He sent me a manual before we left, which I printed out and took with us, not only telling things about the house that we should know about, but things to do on Bainbridge, recommended restaurants, etc. He was most thorough! I would definitely recommend this property and we hope to stay again!"

  • Peace and Quiet with an INCREDIBLE View

"My daughter moved to West Seattle from west Texas with her husband and my grandson (now 11) a year and a half ago and I had not seen them since, so I decided to come to Washington to see them. I'm so glad I chose this house for us to stay in! It was very clean and spacious. The trail/stairs down to the house is long and steep - but well worth it. The view is spectacular to put it mildly. We were blessed with some sunny days so we could see Rainier. Even on cloudy days, the view is so beautiful. We had such a wonderful, relaxing time! My grandson spent an entire day throwing rocks into the water. We saw otters, bald eagles, a loon (love that call) and even Orcas one morning (about 3 we thought). We never even left the island until I had to get to the airport. We loved exploring Vashon. The house was a great place to spend time with my family after so, so long! Christine and Jim greeted us when we arrived and were very kind and accomodating."

  • Perfection...with a veranda to die for.

"Wow! In fact I'll double down with another Wow! Our family just finished a six day stay at The Cedar Cove Inn. Let me put it this way. If the entire state of Iowa was paved with asphalt with the Cedar Cove Inn sitting alone in the middle it would still be worth staying at because the house is so amazing, so beautiful and the proprietors so kind and gracious. Of course it sits majestically overlooking Puget Sound. Now to practical points that will be of use to people. We experienced Cedar Cove as a family compound but it's a bed@breakfast that also, perhaps primarily, rents by the room. I told my wife I could easily see staying as a couple because there are so many magical spots. It can accommodate a couples' inclination to mingle but preserve the option of privacy. As for a family gathering it was indescribably perfect. Gil and Kathy were kind and helpful but truly unobtrusive. They were available for help or suggestions. To preserve the coolness Gil closed the west outside blinds around 3:00p.m.but otherwise you would barely know they were there.....and we were a full family of conversation and pealing laughter. The location is surprisingly accessible to Seattle. A five minute walk down the hill and you're at the ferry. Tacoma is pretty darn close and there are trains that go right into Seattle. We had a great day seeing all the sights and closed it out with a Mariners game. Port Orchard is a handsome town, a perfect base to explore different regions. You're even closer to the Pacific coast. A bit of a haul but yes you are closer. In closing I would add that the property is incredibly well maintained. The photos accurately depict what to expect but in fact can't do it justice. No matter how long you stay you will still be discovering details of perfection and unerring good taste.....courtesy of Gil and Kathy. Thank-you both. Long review and guess what? Haven't even scratched the surface of what I loved about it.....p.s. Just read this to my wife and she said it would be a sin not to mention how perfect the kitchen is for a family that loves to cook. She's right."
