  • An Adventure!!

"We stayed here with my elderly parents for a family wedding. What a fun adventure! We had never stayed in a farm house before! It is so homey and comfortable. We had everything we needed for our stay! Barbara's warm hospitality was evident everywhere. We loved the tour she gave us to see the farm animals, and she taught us a lot about raising them! She was very helpful with our many questions throughout our entire stay. The view of the valley is AMAZING! I wish we had more time to explore the area, there is so much to do! The VRBO description is very accurate. So appreciate being able to stay in this quaint guest house. We would stay there again!"

  • Wonderful week away with friends

"We visit Lake Sammamish every year from Australia and decided to rent our own place rather then staying with friends. It was an amazing week! We have even booked for 2015. The house has a beautiful view of the lake and the rooms and facilities are great. We spent most of our time outside by the pool house which has all the necessities such as fridge, dishwasher, bar area and BBQ. The Jacuzzi was great for relaxing after a full day of wake surfing on the lake. Brian, the owner, is chilled and very accommodating. If you are looking for a getaway with friends or family with kids I would highly recommend it. Looking forward to our next visit!"

  • A Beach Home for All Seasons

"We've stayed at Ranvik Beach House before in winter and in summer. This was our first fall stay … and what a fabulous time of year to enjoy a retreat at the beach! No long ferry lines, no need for dinner reservations, but still a good chance of warm, sunny days. We were blessed with two days of blue skies and temps in the 70's --- perfect for lounging on the deck, walking the beach, taking photos, and fishing! Yes, we tried out new fishing gear and got instruction from our bro-in-law, who's an old pro. Actually, it turned out to be a demonstration as he caught a 9-pound salmon and filleted it on the spot. Simply prepared with butter, lemon and scallions on the grill, it was delicious! Next time I hope we'll be reeling one in ourselves. (Note: if you want to fish, you must have a WA State license)."

  • Of all our many vacation rentals, this is our very favorite!

"My husband and I have been coming to Cottage Paradise for over 8 or 9 years, since before owners Rita and Carl remodeled the kitchen and bathroom. We loved it even back then when both rooms were tiny and there was no wireless. Because i don't like to fly my husband and I travel to many, many cabins and vacation rentals around the Northwest from Washington to Oregon to Montana, and this has always been our favorite place to stay...the one we keep coming back to. (We feel almost possessive of the place!...And actually some of the photos on the site were taken by my husband who was/is a professional photographer. ) And it's not just 180 sunset view, though that is pretty awesome. (In wintertime when you are sitting in one of those window seats that looks out over the Puget Sound, you almost feel like you are outside.) It's also the charm and comfort of the whole place. Even the lighting invites warmth and a cozy feeling. I've been in many VRBO places and you can tell when the owners love their place and also actually vacation there themselves. Because it makes a difference in how great the kitchen is, how comfortable the bed is (love that it is king sized too!), how soft the towels and linens are, the comfortable sofas and chairs. (How many times i have rented a place where the place looked fabulous but the furniture was so uncomfortable!) I love the eclectic decor, the new roomy bathroom with heated tile floors. All of these things are important to me when on vacation and Cottage Paradise delivers. To me, this is just as important as the beautiful view. Also i can't say enough about how incredible the owners are. I feel like Rita and i have been friends all of this time that i forget we haven't quite actually met! I hope that my husband i will be renting Cottage Paradise for years to come even as we get older. I hope Rita and Carl will continue to rent this fabulous place!"
