"My husband and I, along with our dog stayed 4 nights in September. My sister came over and joined us for 2 nights. Our trip was simply to find a quiet place to sit and relax. This cottage was perfect. It is really quite roomy and Julia keeps the cottage very clean and the grounds are really nice. The view from the deck and yard is real nice, especially the sunsets. There is a chiminea in the yard for small fires to enjoy while having a glass of wine and enjoying the quiet. Julia already had it set up for our first fire when we got there. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals, and a large bar-b-que outside for grilling. Even though it was the end of the season we had some nice cherry tomatoes for our salad from her garden. There is a fenced area for a dog to exercise if you are not comfortable with letting your pet off-leash on the large grounds. Julia gave us good information on some restaurants we might enjoy. She is also a very accommodating hostess and made us feel very much at home. We plan to visit again and send our thanks to Julia for her hospitality! We have already recommended this cottage to a couple of friends who we know will enjoy it as much as we did."

"My family and I spent 4 nights in this beautiful home this past week. There were 16 of us and we all fit without a problem. We practically lived outside, the covered deck, sand volleyball court, firepit, did I even mention the wonderful beach right outside the backdoor? We watched the most incredible sunsets each evening. The house was so accommodating and had everything we needed or could have wanted. The owner was so welcoming and easy to work with. He responded quickly each time I had a question during our planning stages and I truly felt that he wanted my family to be happy and feeling cared for during our vacation."

"The cabin was the best random vacation decision we ever made! We initially planned to visit Seattle, but when I started looking at options on VRBO, the cabin jumped out to us. We thought we might spend a couple of days in and around Seattle, but as it turns out, there was a perfect amount of things for us to do on the island, along with excursions to see the whales (a lot of them!) off of the San Juan Islands and over to Port Townsend. What a gem of a place. Our 7 year-old said that she would stay forever if we could bring her dog and her older brother who did not join us!
We greatly appreciated the ease with which you made your space available and all the charms and amenities that came with it. I will be blowing up a few of the great sunset photos off the deck for certain."

"We had a nice time. The house was fully stocked with everything that was needed, and amazingly even a potty seat for the 2.5 year old. All we had to bring was our food and personal items. We enjoyed seeing the deer up close in the yard and clam digging when the tide was out. Every bedroom had cable television and a private bath, so it was easy to divide and choose bedrooms with no one feeling like they got the short end of the stick. The island, while close to Seattle, still felt like a vacation retreat far away from "the real world". We visited several beaches, checked out real estate, and went to Fort Casey for exploring, bike riding and kite flying. The only minor criticism I could come up with would be to have a microwave oven instead of the confection oven, which we could not get the hang of using, so we popped corn on the stove instead. Otherwise I was amazed by the thoughtfulness of the potential needs and clear cut instructions/information provided. There are stairs up and down to all bedrooms (except one) and to beach access, which may be limiting to some people. We came in the summer, but I can imagine that this would make a nice winter retreat as well. Overall an enjoyable experience."
