Clean, comfortable cottage in a beautiful setting.
"This cottage is very nice, clean and comfortable! Julia was very helpful and friendly. This was convenient to Freeland Hall where our daughter's wedding was held. We didn't have enough free time to relax at the cottage and look around Whidbey Island so we plan to go back!"

Perfect Brilliant Stillness (One of my favorite titles)
"The cottage is an architectural wonder and beautifully kept. Deer grazed through the yard. Such amazing peace and tranquility. I visited the nearby town of Langley, which is always a joy, and spent many hours in the Earth Sanctuary. Simple quick journeys for anything you might need... or for unique adventures on the beach, in the forest, or novelty shopping. A beautiful experience!"

"We had a wonderful time at this lovely home on Whidbey Island. It was really an honor to stay in such a unique home with all the special custom woodwork and accessories. I'm sure that each unique piece has a story to tell and we wish we knew them all.
We loved the custom stone fireplace in the living room. Such a cozy and warm place to relax. It looks as good as the photo and extra wood was nearby for easy use. Lots of seating for good conversations, too.
The kitchen was large and fit many folks trying to make meals at once. Nice appliances and it was wonderful to have the extra refrigerator in the laundry room, and we sure used it. We cooked a lot and stayed home to enjoy the views and lovely location. Our group went from ages 8 to 91, and it was perfect for all of us together.
It was also fascinating to see all the paintings and the book of watercolors by Bud Erickson, who must be a family member. And he designed the home, too, so wonder it was so exceptional. Our contact Bob (son of Bud the artist) was very responsive and available to answer all our questions. Much appreciated information!
We found the dining room table to be perfect for a huge family. Plenty of room for everyone to feel included. Loved the very distinctive wooden chairs, too. All of the wooden features were what made the home so incredibly special. From the china cabinet, to the drawers, the bed frames, the occasional tables, and everything in between. We even worked puzzles on the smaller convenient table next to the couch.
The wooden hot tub was older, but very warm and relaxing and we even got in some volley ball. What a terrific sandy court to play on. We were grateful for the wooden walkway to the beach. Made for easy trips there, even though it was such a short level walk. We also enjoyed the adirondack chairs near the beach. Now that's a great way to relax when it is warm and balmy; and feel the gentle breeze while listening to the water lapping on the shore, with seagulls soaring above. Sounds like heaven to me, and it was a definitely a glorious weekend. We WILL be back and we can't wait."

"We had a nice time. The house was fully stocked with everything that was needed, and amazingly even a potty seat for the 2.5 year old. All we had to bring was our food and personal items. We enjoyed seeing the deer up close in the yard and clam digging when the tide was out. Every bedroom had cable television and a private bath, so it was easy to divide and choose bedrooms with no one feeling like they got the short end of the stick. The island, while close to Seattle, still felt like a vacation retreat far away from "the real world". We visited several beaches, checked out real estate, and went to Fort Casey for exploring, bike riding and kite flying. The only minor criticism I could come up with would be to have a microwave oven instead of the confection oven, which we could not get the hang of using, so we popped corn on the stove instead. Otherwise I was amazed by the thoughtfulness of the potential needs and clear cut instructions/information provided. There are stairs up and down to all bedrooms (except one) and to beach access, which may be limiting to some people. We came in the summer, but I can imagine that this would make a nice winter retreat as well. Overall an enjoyable experience."
