  • Great Long Weekend

"Came to the island for a wedding and to escape the city. Booked late - options were limited. This place was available. I feel like I won the lottery. The pictures are absolutely fair and accurate. The view of the water and Holmes Harbor is overwhelming. Look to your left to see Freeland, look to your right to Camano and in the distance Anacortes and Chuckanut Mountains (Or was that Mt. Constitution? Either way - amazing distant view). It is a cabin - let's be clear on that. And that is what makes it great. It is comfortable, and relaxing and an absolute escape. The kitchen is well equipped, plenty of towels for the bath (shower only), loft for kids to sleep in. A short walk to Freeland, a longer but easy drive to Langley. And Julia knows all the places on the island (including kayak rentals in Langley). Negatives? The bedroom is tiny - clearance on one side of the bed is almost zero. And it smells like a cabin. But a complete facility, great place to refocus, regroup and re-lax. Will we be back? I hope so Next year."

  • Heavenly

"My husband and I brought our 4-year old son on vacation here for two nights. We couldn't have been more impressed with it-the entire cabin was immaculate, tasteful, beautiful and the grounds were amazing. Our son fit perfectly in the little den on the futon and we still had privacy in the master bedroom. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The walk to the beach was a bit of a hike, but once you got there, it was so worth it. The beach at sunset is unsurpassed and it was some of the best beach combing we've ever done! We felt like we were in a 'hidden' estate teeming with magical, peaceful qualities. We couldn't get over how quiet the grounds were also. We were very relaxed and would re-book in a heartbeat."

  • Our 6th stay was as amazing as our 1st! Always a wonderful experience!

"We've stayed at this adorable cottage twice a year since it was first available and every experience has been beyond memorable! Just driving up to the cottage gives you that "Ahhh" feeling, and then you walk inside and it really is breathtaking. The home seems right out of "Coastal Cottage" magazine in every way. Light, bright, brand new and spotless! The interior spaces and kitchen are filled with all the small details and supplies that make every stay effortless. The view from every room is jaw-dropping, frankly. Even better and more expansive than the photos. We walk on the sandy beach for hours, holding hands, taking in the peaceful setting and just felt all our stresses of normal life melt away. Rain or shine, there's always something new to see and do. Can't wait to come back again!"

  • Another great crabbing vacation

"I could copy/paste my last year review  We love to try new homes every year but we returned to this house for many reasons. We liked that we had enough room to accommodate everybody, we loved the great view; we loved the kitchen (lots of pots and pans and dishes in good condition, working appliances, spices galore and lots of cleaning supplies); we loved having the boats; we loved the lower deck with the outdoor shower, sink to clean all your fishing loot, and nice chairs were you could just kick back and relax (the little room out there is also a plus). Also the house has easy level parking and the two showers and toilets (two bathrooms) were really appreciated. There is also the hot tub, the crab pots and cages, the available supply of paper towels and bathroom tissue. At many homes we had to get out and buy more paper supplies and sometimes the nearest store was far away (unlike the awesome Paylessfood in Freeland). This is a comfortable house with a great view and close from everything. For us this house fit the standards. Twice. Thank you Kathy and Bruce for two great summer stays!"
