"I hearken back to an old old movie...Enchanted Cottage. In that movie a not so handsome couple became beautiful while in that cottage. Not that we became different people buy it did somewhat transform us. The wooded setting was almost magical. I didn't walk of the trails but my husband and dog did and they both enjoyed it. The house was clean and very beautifully decorated. We absolutely loved it and will definitely go there again and again and highly recommend it."

"What a great house in a great location! We had 6 adults and a 2 yr. old in our party and all had plenty of room. The upstairs covered deck was awesome for viewing sunsets and just relaxing. It's just a short walk to the beach and all the neighbors are so friendly. All the beds were very comfy and all linens top quality. Would definitely stay here again."

"This property deserves a higher rating than "excellent"! My sister and I wanted a "sister retreat" and stayed at Heron's Roost for 3 nights. We quickly realized that we should have stayed at least 5 nights. Most enjoyable was the expanse of the grounds - the trails on the property, large trees that filtered sunlight/daylight, patios, quietness and much, much more. The cabin is well appointed with all the necessities anyone would need (books, games, puzzles). Don't forget your camera! Pictures of the sun rising through the trees are amazing! We will be back, as will our friends and family that have seen our photos. The town of Langley looks far away on a map, but it truly is only an easy 8 miles away. The shopkeepers in Langley were all absolutely wonderful telling us their stories about how they came to Whidbey Island. We went to local restaurants in Langley and was treated to a street performance of the "Morris Men" - all I can say is WOW and I have pictures to prove it! The owners of this property have been warm and welcoming from the time the cabin was reserved (6 months ago). I will be back and I presume the family and friends I've told about this captivating property will too! Until next time, thank you to the property owners for sharing this precious secret.

"We had a nice time. The house was fully stocked with everything that was needed, and amazingly even a potty seat for the 2.5 year old. All we had to bring was our food and personal items. We enjoyed seeing the deer up close in the yard and clam digging when the tide was out. Every bedroom had cable television and a private bath, so it was easy to divide and choose bedrooms with no one feeling like they got the short end of the stick. The island, while close to Seattle, still felt like a vacation retreat far away from "the real world". We visited several beaches, checked out real estate, and went to Fort Casey for exploring, bike riding and kite flying. The only minor criticism I could come up with would be to have a microwave oven instead of the confection oven, which we could not get the hang of using, so we popped corn on the stove instead. Otherwise I was amazed by the thoughtfulness of the potential needs and clear cut instructions/information provided. There are stairs up and down to all bedrooms (except one) and to beach access, which may be limiting to some people. We came in the summer, but I can imagine that this would make a nice winter retreat as well. Overall an enjoyable experience."
