  • Another great crabbing vacation

"I could copy/paste my last year review  We love to try new homes every year but we returned to this house for many reasons. We liked that we had enough room to accommodate everybody, we loved the great view; we loved the kitchen (lots of pots and pans and dishes in good condition, working appliances, spices galore and lots of cleaning supplies); we loved having the boats; we loved the lower deck with the outdoor shower, sink to clean all your fishing loot, and nice chairs were you could just kick back and relax (the little room out there is also a plus). Also the house has easy level parking and the two showers and toilets (two bathrooms) were really appreciated. There is also the hot tub, the crab pots and cages, the available supply of paper towels and bathroom tissue. At many homes we had to get out and buy more paper supplies and sometimes the nearest store was far away (unlike the awesome Paylessfood in Freeland). This is a comfortable house with a great view and close from everything. For us this house fit the standards. Twice. Thank you Kathy and Bruce for two great summer stays!"

  • Excellent views, great community

"My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. Its a nice quiet location with excellent views, and short driving distance to town. Although it was just myself and my wife, I think a family of four could stay comfortably as well."

  • February 2015-Second Stay As Great as the First!

"We had such a fabulous stay with friends in this cabin last February, we decided to do it again! The cabin is very cozy, beds incredibly comfortable, and the setting is beautiful. Julia and her handsome dogs Timber and Ketchum were incredibly welcoming on the first visit and they made us feel like returning family when we arrived for the second. The view of the bay, sunrises and sunsets are incredible and the resident eagles and seals have not disappointed. Descriptions and photos of cabin are exactly as we experienced them on both visits - no disappointments at all. A much needed and very relaxing weekend in a great place, with great friends, and great hosts! Thanks, Julia!"

  • What a treasure! A perfect weekend getaway.

"I spent untold hours/days looking for the right place to take my husband for a surprise birthday weekend. I was impressed with the photos and reviews for Heron's Roost--but could it really be as good as it sounds? No. It's better! A delightfully decorated cottage surrounded by forest foliage and whimsy. There's everything you need and then some. In just a short time I could see work stress dissolve completely from my husband's face. It was the perfect choice for a weekend away. The stairs down to the beach access are an adventure all their own. Two beautiful golden retrievers were very welcoming. And it's quite a treat to visit the special goats and sheep. This is SO much more than renting a cabin in the woods. Dave, the caretaker, is kind and helpful; and there was great communication with the owners, Laura and Steve. I've already told friends to plan a trip here. We'll certainly be back! Thank you! Lauren"
