"5 stars are not enough for the experience of staying in this impeccably appointed cabin in a dreamlike setting. You will find everything clean and comfortable. The furnishings of futon, sofa, chairs and especially the bed are ideal for kicking back and resting. The kitchen with all of it's utensils, beautiful dishes, cookware, etc, etc, etc, inspired us to make gourmet meals and eat them in front of the flickering gas fireplace. We spent a couple of rain days enjoying the vast movies library on the big screen in the movie alcove. The woodlands surrounding the cabin is special having direct access to the beach by a path along the Moon Snail Trail. You expect Bilbo Baggins to appear among the tall cedars and pines. Black tail deer, squirrels, eagles and harbor seals are but a few of the delights we found here. I would highly recommend this treasure to anyone wishing a peace-filled, soothing cabin in a magical place called Heron's Roost."

"Had such a great stay at this amazingly architected home. Very short walk to the beach. We saw bald eagles every day. The fire pit was great for roasting marshmallows with the kids... And OMG... The kitchen is amazing. We made great use of it by cooking up local mussels. And the deck and grill were excellent too. Beds were super comfortable!
This is a great house for kids!
Only note I would add is that there are no televisions in the house. It's such a nice house and location that you really shouldn't want one... But you should at least know that there aren't any there."

"Our family loved staying here, and will be back. The house is well-stocked, very comfortable, and feels new and clean. It is filled with natural light. The view is wonderful and expansive. The location is good - maybe a 12-min. drive to Langley - and quiet. Highly recommend staying here."

"I could copy/paste my last year review
We love to try new homes every year but we returned to this house for many reasons. We liked that we had enough room to accommodate everybody, we loved the great view; we loved the kitchen (lots of pots and pans and dishes in good condition, working appliances, spices galore and lots of cleaning supplies); we loved having the boats; we loved the lower deck with the outdoor shower, sink to clean all your fishing loot, and nice chairs were you could just kick back and relax (the little room out there is also a plus). Also the house has easy level parking and the two showers and toilets (two bathrooms) were really appreciated. There is also the hot tub, the crab pots and cages, the available supply of paper towels and bathroom tissue. At many homes we had to get out and buy more paper supplies and sometimes the nearest store was far away (unlike the awesome Paylessfood in Freeland). This is a comfortable house with a great view and close from everything. For us this house fit the standards. Twice.
Thank you Kathy and Bruce for two great summer stays!"
