"My family stayed at this rental for two weeks in June 2015. It was a wonderful experience all around. I would definitely stay here again in the future and recommend it to others. The owner was extremely helpful and welcoming from initial contact through email until we left the rental. She clearly cares very much about keeping her property up and sharing her property and tips about neat island experiences with visitors. The house sits on a larger property also kept up meticulously, and is a wonderful spot to explore and lounge. The owner invited us to pick freely from the flourishing vegetable, herb, and flower gardens she keeps and boy did we have enough to eat!! The rental is carefully and thoughtfully kept, from cleanliness to having beautiful bouquets of flowers from the garden placed around the house. The view is to die for, and in prime sunset-viewing position, from inside or outside the house. The house is well-stocked all around with linens, throw blankets, books for reading, info about the region, a well-functioning internet connection, and even binoculars for looking out over Honeymoon Bay and getting a closer look at frequent bird visitors. The kitchen is stocked with anything you could want from pots and pans, to spices and olive oil. The house feels very private from the rest of the property but it was comforting to know that someone was a stone's throw away in case we needed anything. The owner keeps a dog and he was fun to have around - friendly and calm.
I stayed here with my husband and our 2-year old toddler, along with another young adult extended family member (sleeping in the loft) and the house was perfect for us. Any more than that and it would be cramped, though. It was a perfect spot for kids and adults of all ages.
Another great thing about this location is that it's very close to a well-stocked grocery store, which really came in handy for quick trips to grab any forgotten items. We cooked alot (including on the bbq) during our stay and really appreciated this. It's also within a short drive to nearby towns for shopping and restaurant-going. And, of course, the island in general is such a wonderful place to have a vacation.
I would say the only downside to staying here would be fore travelers not having a bike or car. It's not the most walkable area, although there is a main road leading to town, which is about a mile away.
We will definitely be back some time...we had a wonderful experience."

"Arrived to deer foraging in the front yard, and saw other wildlife that same evening. The cottage itself is a very relaxing place to be; nice design, pleasing atmosphere with nothing lacking that we would have wished for, except for a few more window screens during our first night. Nevertheless, the island was still about 10 degrees cooler than the heat-wave on the mainland, and our remaining days were flat-out refreshing in terms of the temperature. WiFi let my wife participate in her weekly coursework online, and the woods made for some nice wandering. Traffic noise didn't disturb our evenings or our sleeping, but did detract while relaxing on the wonderful front porch in the morning (gazing at the serene setting and wanting to just hear the birds and the breeze, not the cars). Grocery store proximity much appreciated! We were pleased by the owner's response in caring for a few minor concerns, and appreciate their thoughtfulness with regard to dogs. Nice to find that a pet bed was provided, as well as bowls for food, water, and some treats and even pickup bags, if I'm remembering correctly. Do read the cottage policy, however: dogs are to be kept off the furniture.
Travel tips: We had an excellent and inexpensive experience leaving our dog at Dogwood Pet Resort in Oak Harbor enroute to whale-watching with Island Adventures out of Anacortes. A great outing with Island Adventures too. Also, South Whidbey State Park is just a few miles from the cottage and is beautiful - the 15 minute hike to the beach is well-worth it."

Had a great weekend with my sons and daughter-in-law
"I took two of my adult sons and my daughter-in-law for a birthday trip. We love Whidbey Island and have stayed at other places previously, and this was definitely a great place for us. The water views were spectacular, especially in the morning. We are all active, so the short hike down to the beach (this property is on a high bank) was pleasant and allowed us to get some exercise. The street is quiet, which is a nice change from the city noise we usually deal with. Watching a seal play in the water was a treat.
The house had everything we needed, and we had some top flight meals as a result without having to hunt up a restaurant. The deck looking over the water is a great place for breakfast and barbecues. My daughter-in-law kept saying how much she liked Eagle's Perch and posting photos to Facebook, so I'm sure it was a hit."

"We had our entire extended family visit over the 4th of July and loved our stay! This home was so wonderful & accommodated teenagers & adults with no problem. It was immaculately clean & fully stocked - we didn't need to bring a thing. We actually had 14 people over for dinner one night & the huge deck was perfect for entertaining. Can't wait to come back for a visit!"
