Recent Mutiny Bay property reviews

  • Can't beat the view....

"The beach and views from Mutiny Bay are hard to beat. We went for a quick weekend getaway and found the cabin to be a perfect fit for our family with teens. Both cabins were clean and ready for us upon arrival. In a quick check in the kitchen before heading to the store we found that it had all the necessary equipment for preparing our meals (Plenty of pots, pans, plates, utensils, etc.). We brought sleeping bags and just crashed on top of the beds to avoid creating any laundry and found the beds to be plenty comfy. The kids loved hanging out in the back cabin playing Ping-Pong and just being away from the parents - but close enough where we had no concerns. Even with the overcast skies the sunsets each night were fantastic. Thanks for sharing your property with us."

  • Fabulous Beach Vacation!

"We really enjoyed our time at your fabulous home! From the moment we got there the city tensions left us all and we felt comfortable immediately. The view can not be beat from the full length picture windows on the front and side of the house! We really were in awe of how peaceful it was. The house is very well equipped with everything you need for a get away. The beds were comfortable and the layout of the house was great for our family. We spent most of our time on the deck and the fantastic beach! We began our mornings with coffee on the deck and ended it with s'mores at the fire pit. I am still amazed at how quiet it was. The kids loved the swing set and we found a full playground just a few minutes away. I would go back and stay at the Fosso home in a heartbeat and so would everyone who joined us. Thank you!"

  • Charming Beachfront Home on Mutiny Bay

"We rented this house for a week in July 2011, and we really enjoyed our stay. Here are some insights about the house: ~ The location is excellent. The house is situated on a beautiful sandy beach, and it faces west toward the Olympic Mountains and Puget Sound shipping lanes. From the living room and front patio, we saw bald eagles, seahawks, herons, deer, cruise ships, cargo ships, and even an aircraft carrier. Moreover, the house is just 90 minutes away from Seattle’s eastern suburbs, 15 minutes from the Clinton ferry dock, 1.5 miles from the stores in Freeland, and about 6 miles from Langley. If you scuba dive, the Keystone Underwater Park is only about 20 minutes away. ~ The interior is charming, spacious, and generally comfortable. It's immediately evident that the house is a cherished family home and not just a rental house. The house is adorned with *very* interesting photos and artifacts, and charming custom paintings of the owners’ children. The dining room and living room can accommodate large families, the beds are comfortable, there’s good water pressure and nice shower heads in the bathrooms, and the kitchen is well stocked. ~ The house is not only “dog friendly,” it’s “dog ready.” There’s a chain-link kennel and a dog tether outside, the owner provides dog bowls and dog towels, there’s an outdoor shower and hose to rinse off your dog, and there’s a dog bed in the master bedroom. (And, although it’s a dog-ready beach-front house, the house is still relatively clean and doesn’t smell like a wet dog….) Notably, during high tide, there isn’t much room for a dog to run on the beach in front of the house. But, don’t fret, there's a beautiful waterfront off-leash dog park ("Double Bluff") just a 5-10 minute drive away. ~ The neighbors are wonderful. They were genuinely welcoming, they offered suggestions about things to do on the island, and we even set up a couple of doggy play dates with their golden doodle. ~ The owners’ representative (daughter Becky) was friendly, reasonable, and accommodating in all of our dealings with her. Notably, it was easier to reach her via phone than via e-mail. ~ Just FYI, the house doesn’t currently have wireless internet, and my 3G data reception (via AT&T) was spotty to non-existent on the property. That wasn’t a major problem for us, as we were in a position to “unplug” during that week. However, if you’re planning to telecommute during your stay, you should keep this in mind."
