"This was our second stay at the cottage and we enjoyed it even more than the first stay. The fresh baked pie at arrival was second to none, which is always a great start. The view is awesome, which is not only of Puget Sound, but of whatever wildlife or birds that may in the area. It is a great place to go and relax, relieve stress and appreciate the greater things in life. Edmonds is a great community to shop and eat. The ferry to Kingston leaves from downtown and you can even catch a train to Vancouver, B.C. if you want some adventure. There are many wild blackberry bushes to harvest in August & September, plus John & Laura grow all kinds of berries, plums, apples, and even some rhubarb. John & Laura are great hosts, always willing to provide information, and their "talking stool" idea is very helpful. We look forward to our next visit. The 38 or 39 steps down to the cottage can be a challenge, but it is still well worth it."

  • A quaint home away from home...

"We booked the cottage for my son, daughter in law and young granddaughter. The proprietors could not of been more accommodating and helpful. After a 33 hours of travel, they were exhausted and this was a perfect place for them to rest. Kid friendly, spacious for a young family of three and everything you needed when you are away from home. My family got in very late (actually early the next morning) and Patricia and her husband were great about making sure the cottage was ready for them to get their wee one down for the night. Close to everything and price was very reasonable. Will definitely book there again next time we are on the island."

  • Summer Stay

"The good: This home is located right on the beach. There is a fence encircling the property so young children are prevented from accessing the water. The home is quaint and although it is relatively small, we did not feel cramped with 2 adults and 6 children (including 3 teens). The City of Coupeville had some fun stuff to do, including renting sea kayaks, small shops, great restaurants and Fort Casey. The beach in front of the house had great tide pools with crabs, star fish, small fish, etc. Our children spent hours on the beach. The kitchen was stocked with basics like sugar, flour, spices, ketchup, mustard, etc. There is also a huge selection of movies. A couple of things to keep in mind. The house is listed as sleeps 8-10. However, there is one twin bed on the main level that is considered the master bedroom. There is also a futon in the living room/kitchen/dining area, but you would not want to sleep on it because the mattress is very thin and uncomfortable (it works great for seating and looks out over the beach). There are 4 bunk beds upstairs, but you need to bring your own sleeping bags or bedding. There are two large couches upstairs and that is where two of our teens slept. All in all the house is a good deal for the price, was very clean and well stocked and you can't beat the proximity to the beach. We would stay there again."

  • Amazing stay

"This has to be the cabin that inspired Hansel and Gretl. It was one of the coolest places we have ever stayed. From the minute you pull down the long driveway you are a million miles from Seattle. The cabin is quiet and serene. We spent hours drinking cider and sitting on the porch reading. My husband runs a construction company and must have spent the majority of his time looking at the wood and inspecting how well the cabin was made....He was blown away by the details. The bed was SO cozy and comfortable. It's pretty centrally located, we went back and forth between Langley and Coupville for coffee and snacks. After spending a day hiking deception pass we couldn't wait to get back to soak in the tub. This is now a staple for us for Fall in Seattle. It was the most amazing place. And Luanne could not have been an easier/more gracious host!"
