  • A Refreshing Safe Haven

"This has been one of my several stays here and I have enjoyed it every bit as much as the first time. My purpose has been oriented around productive business so my needs at the end of a demanding day for peace and quiet, cleanliness and order, and finally a great night's sleep are imparative. These graciously have all easily been fulfilled with each visit. Also, there's more than meets the eye for those who wish to see. Here is an unmistakable intention of warmth, kindness, and generosity which is difficult to measure but gratefully appreciated. I hope the calendar is open for when I need to return, but I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't."

  • Of all our many vacation rentals, this is our very favorite!

"My husband and I have been coming to Cottage Paradise for over 8 or 9 years, since before owners Rita and Carl remodeled the kitchen and bathroom. We loved it even back then when both rooms were tiny and there was no wireless. Because i don't like to fly my husband and I travel to many, many cabins and vacation rentals around the Northwest from Washington to Oregon to Montana, and this has always been our favorite place to stay...the one we keep coming back to. (We feel almost possessive of the place!...And actually some of the photos on the site were taken by my husband who was/is a professional photographer. ) And it's not just 180 sunset view, though that is pretty awesome. (In wintertime when you are sitting in one of those window seats that looks out over the Puget Sound, you almost feel like you are outside.) It's also the charm and comfort of the whole place. Even the lighting invites warmth and a cozy feeling. I've been in many VRBO places and you can tell when the owners love their place and also actually vacation there themselves. Because it makes a difference in how great the kitchen is, how comfortable the bed is (love that it is king sized too!), how soft the towels and linens are, the comfortable sofas and chairs. (How many times i have rented a place where the place looked fabulous but the furniture was so uncomfortable!) I love the eclectic decor, the new roomy bathroom with heated tile floors. All of these things are important to me when on vacation and Cottage Paradise delivers. To me, this is just as important as the beautiful view. Also i can't say enough about how incredible the owners are. I feel like Rita and i have been friends all of this time that i forget we haven't quite actually met! I hope that my husband i will be renting Cottage Paradise for years to come even as we get older. I hope Rita and Carl will continue to rent this fabulous place!"

  • Lovely home in a charming community

"What a great home in a fabulous location! We use VRBO quite a bit and this was one of our favorites. It was also one of the most well-appointed and clean that we have rented. This was our first time to the Seattle area and what a great and beautiful location to explore the region. We were able to easily go into Seattle and enjoy the day there as well as several days enjoying beautiful Bainbridge Island. It was easy to enjoy a relaxing day without even leaving the house too with the amazing views, fire pit, BBQ, hot tub and a well stocked game cabinet! Try the Rolling Bay Cafe and the Italian restaurant next to the Jiffy Mart just a short walk down the street. I highly recommend a drive around the entire island and a visit to the Town and Country Market for your shopping needs (amazing produce and delicious pre-prepared dishes) as well as Eleven winery for a quick wine tasting (they had chess tables to entertain our kids). If you want to venture up north for a whale watch, we also enjoyed Eagle Wing Whale watching in the town of Victoria BC. I wish we'd had more time to explore nearby Olympic National Park so we'll be back! Being from New England, we actually thought the greenery and leaves changing more beautiful here than even in the Vermont/NH area. Very friendly and helpful neighbors too in this charming community..."

  • Camano Beach House

"We had 8 family members enjoy a pre-Thanksgiving weekend on the water. The hosts graciously added a table and 8 chairs to help us celebrate. Sunrises are spectacular! Loved the Jacuzzi too. The kitchen appointments would be a "B" grade. We brought all of our food already prepared. Thoughtful touches like plenty of cozy throws and extra pillows and blankets were very appreciated. The hosts responded quickly when we had questions."
