  • Nice Home for a Reunion

"My relatives and I enjoyed this spot, which has a distant water view from the upstairs master bedroom deck. The photos made it look up-to-date, but in reality it looks built and furnished in the 80's-90's. The house is well-furnished, although some furniture is a little worn. The kitchen is small and needs some upgrading, both its utensils (sharp knives would be very helpful) and the "tired" cabinets. The house worked well for our group, which was not just couples. The location is convenient to Pt. Defiance, Gig Harbor and reasonably close to I-5. All in all a great choice!"

  • Perfect for a GIRL'S Weekend

"We are four girlfriends (all 60+) of 50 years who travel together once or twice a year; this Day Island Cottage by the water was absolutely marvelous for our needs: great view out a huge picture window overlooking the sound and the Olympic Mountains, spotlessly clean, great kitchen with all appliances and gadgets, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The very gracious owner was there when we arrived with a plate of freshly baked cookies and a smile - she was very helpful with information. We had a car to visit local attractions and we rode the ferry from Bremerton to Seattle, but the neighborhood is very secure and ideal for strolling in the evenings. We were fortunate to have extraordinary weather while there and used the outdoor table and chairs for our evening cocktails at sunset and watched the seals and geese and boats pass by - lovely. The only concern for older travelers or families with very young children, is the spiral staircase which is the only access to the third bedroom and there is no bathroom. But, for older children who are more fearless and flexible it would be an ideal quiet place for them to hang-out and/or play. I highly recommend this property and my girlfriends all agreed that we would be back!!"

  • Better than I could have imagined!

"I had looked in Olympia to host a bridal shower for my best friend. After several properties never calling me back, Margaret responded within 12 hours and I couldn't have been happier. The view is spectacular and the home is so warm and inviting and you really just feel like you are at peace there. We had 30 people at the bridal shower and there was plenty of room. The layout was amazing and we were able to host the entire party in the back of the house that overlooks the sound. My friend had a magical time! We spent three days there and felt very comfortable and slept well. I would give Fernbrook my highest recommendation and cannot thank Margaret enough for responding to my email and helping me to give my friend an extra special day!"

  • Excellent All-Around!

"My wife and I stayed at the Gig Harbor Guest House for 12 days. It was a most enjoyable and pleasant stay. Without hesitation, we highly recommend the Guest House. The house is as close to the water as one can be, very close to the historic downtown, quiet, modern, and just a superb place to stay and kick back. Marlene is an excellent hostess. She provides everything that a guest would expect and wish to have to make a stay comfortable. And before you leave take a look at the name of the dock and the pictures of the fishing boats on the walls - there is a fascinating connection with local history and heritage! Great place - highly recommended."
