  • Amazing getaway!

"My family spent the weekend at this amazing cabin and had such a wonderful time! When we arrived there were amazing cookies waiting for us with a hand written note, something you do not get at most places. The gorgeous view of the water and access to the beach were an added bonus that my family loved! We had a great time walking along the water and relaxing we even saw some bald eagels! I can say this is a place for people of all ages!"

  • Perfect place to relax and renew

"The photos don't do this lovely home justice, and that's really how we felt from the moment we arrived--at home. The property was exceptionally clean, scrupulously maintained, and generously stocked. The owners have thought of everything--from carefully labeling the light switches, to providing detailed, explicit instructions on how to light the gas-log fireplace, to generously leaving a well-stocked larder of staples (flour, sugar, couscous, arborio rice, herbs and spices) with instructions to "help yourselves." We spent hours a day sitting on the spacious deck, looking out over the Pickering Passage to the Olympics in the background and listening to the birds. The superb sound system was an unexpected pleasure, as was the treasure trove of jazz and classical CDs. We couldn't have asked for a more restful, relaxing, enjoyable vacation. Thank you, Todd and Lynne, for sharing your jewel of a home with us."

  • Totally Awesome Vacation Spot!!

"Our family of three spent a three-day weekend at this Harstine Island retreat and had a supremely enjoyable stay. The cabin is cozy and warm, centered around a large wooden table for family activities. The kitchen may not be granite and shiny, but it is totally what you expect in a woodsy island cabin. Our 15-year old daughter took over the loft area as her own space. A huge wrap-around deck and easy chairs provide outdoor spaces as well as a large comfy hammock slung between trees. We took walks to the beach nearby, hiked along the bluffs, and enjoyed the sunny beach out on the point. The view across Puget Sound is beautiful and relaxing. Sandwiched in-between a very busy trip to the Northwest in which we hiked and climbed far up Mt. Baker, Mt. Rainier and Mt. Hood, to the point of exhaustion, the island was a welcome retreat in which we were able to lay back and do very little as we wanted. One drawback is that there is no wi-fi in the cabin, however this was really an inconvenience as we simply timed our internet usage to our visits to the community center where the signal is strong. At the central building there is a large and inviting pool, (the photos at this site do not really do it justice, or the island or the cabin for that matter, and should be updated) large enough to swim laps in. The large and hot jacuzzi was also well used to soak our weary bones. This is a quiet spot, so if you are looking for a hub of activity or have a lot of restless teenagers who need to be tethered to their devices you might seek out a place closer to civilization, but I totally recommend it as a getaway when what you want to do is recuperate from our all-too-busy lives."

  • Great Cabin on a budget!

"This cabin was a marvelous retreat! Our family of 5 stayed in this cute little cabin for a week and wish we could have stayed longer. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out while sleeping and even have an extra room downstairs for all the odds and ends we brought with us. One of our favorite things to do was to open the doors to hear the rain outside and the slight breeze rustling all the beautiful evergreens. The view of the Sound is stunning from the back porch! Pictures just can't do it enough justice. The community is so quiet. The b-b-q pits and horse shoe game got much use from us. Just walking around on the trails was also something we found quiet amusing. Our children could get their "wiggles" out and sleep very soundly at night. We will definitely be staying in this cabin again. The cabin came fully stocked with towels, kitchen items, books, toys and beach fun for the kids. The beach is just a short walk down the trail and down some steps. The owner is very friendly and very helpful. We had zero problems with the property."
