  • Perfect vacation spot for entire family

"My family includes 8 people ages 2 to 72. We have rented this home in November for Thanksgiving, for a spring wedding in the meadow in front of the house and numerous times in the summer. This beautiful home has everything one needs for an enjoyable vacation. We have always found it spotless and the beds made for our arrival. Access to the pool, the beaches, the hiking trails, the spectacular views and the quiet are why we keep coming back. The owners have been consistently wonderful."

  • Beautiful home with lots of toys

"We enjoyed a multigenerational Memorial Day weekend in this beautiful home with SO much to occupy us, rain or shine. The kitchen is so well stocked, the rooms are appointed so wonderfully (artwork everywhere!) and there are so many extras you can't get bored. We kayaked on the sound every day (life jackets and paddles abound) exploring the cove and its plentiful starfish, we walked to the marina for a snow cone, we visited the Wild Felid Advocacy center (a TRULY MUST see a mere 5 min. drive away), we hot tubbed, and enjoyed the stars from the dock. The children in our group adored the craft area and the quiet getaway downstairs for reading or watching your favorite movie is just excellent. The house is super clean and in terrific repair. The correspondence with the owner was very pleasant and helpful. I can't recommend this home highly enough!"

  • Perfect place to relax and renew

"The photos don't do this lovely home justice, and that's really how we felt from the moment we arrived--at home. The property was exceptionally clean, scrupulously maintained, and generously stocked. The owners have thought of everything--from carefully labeling the light switches, to providing detailed, explicit instructions on how to light the gas-log fireplace, to generously leaving a well-stocked larder of staples (flour, sugar, couscous, arborio rice, herbs and spices) with instructions to "help yourselves." We spent hours a day sitting on the spacious deck, looking out over the Pickering Passage to the Olympics in the background and listening to the birds. The superb sound system was an unexpected pleasure, as was the treasure trove of jazz and classical CDs. We couldn't have asked for a more restful, relaxing, enjoyable vacation. Thank you, Todd and Lynne, for sharing your jewel of a home with us."

  • Totally Awesome Vacation Spot!!

"Our family of three spent a three-day weekend at this Harstine Island retreat and had a supremely enjoyable stay. The cabin is cozy and warm, centered around a large wooden table for family activities. The kitchen may not be granite and shiny, but it is totally what you expect in a woodsy island cabin. Our 15-year old daughter took over the loft area as her own space. A huge wrap-around deck and easy chairs provide outdoor spaces as well as a large comfy hammock slung between trees. We took walks to the beach nearby, hiked along the bluffs, and enjoyed the sunny beach out on the point. The view across Puget Sound is beautiful and relaxing. Sandwiched in-between a very busy trip to the Northwest in which we hiked and climbed far up Mt. Baker, Mt. Rainier and Mt. Hood, to the point of exhaustion, the island was a welcome retreat in which we were able to lay back and do very little as we wanted. One drawback is that there is no wi-fi in the cabin, however this was really an inconvenience as we simply timed our internet usage to our visits to the community center where the signal is strong. At the central building there is a large and inviting pool, (the photos at this site do not really do it justice, or the island or the cabin for that matter, and should be updated) large enough to swim laps in. The large and hot jacuzzi was also well used to soak our weary bones. This is a quiet spot, so if you are looking for a hub of activity or have a lot of restless teenagers who need to be tethered to their devices you might seek out a place closer to civilization, but I totally recommend it as a getaway when what you want to do is recuperate from our all-too-busy lives."
