  • Great experience

"I had a great experience hosting over 50 people here for a mini-youth camp. Though the space isn't necessarily designed for that many people, the amount of floor space available for sleeping makes it ideal for a fun makeshift sleepover of sorts. The kids enjoyed rowing around the pond, and the grassy fields worked well for all sorts of games. The natural surroundings made it feel quite rustic and peaceful. The classic car collection was also a very nice touch. Jim was very supportive and responsive throughout the entire rental process from inquiry to post-stay. I would recommend the lodge to anyone with a larger party interested in getting away for a trip."

  • Fabulous!

"Ended up at this marvelous house when my first venue for a ladies birthday weekend fell through. I'm so glad it did - I can't imagine a better place for our event. Although it was stormy and cold outside (it IS January after all), we enjoyed watching the storm from our perfect perch inside. Erika also arranged for our visit on short notice with extreme competence and graciousness. The house revolves around an amazing kitchen. This is truly an 8-butt kitchen! No crowding here as everyone pitched in to make our health-conscience taste-tasting menu, while others lounged close by at the bar to get in on the conversation. I can't wait to come back in better weather to take advantage of the patio, perfectly situated to extend the kitchen area. And of course, this whole area had a beautiful view. We had 10 ladies each night all in comfy beds, but there was plenty of room for more. During the days, 6 others joined us and we never felt crowded. Even with all those voices, the house design kept it from being noisy. And natural light flooded the kitchen and living room area - actually most of the house. The thoughtful details in the house included discreet but informative notes, a foot basin for soaking feet, lots of lovely quilts, lap blankets for cool winter evenings, a large wall-mounted TV in a separate area (leaving the main living room free from distraction), a dish in the bathroom for jewelry, and on and on. This is not a typical sterile rental property. I agree with the other reviews that the photos do not do justice to this lovely home. We will definitely be back."

  • Nice Home for a Reunion

"My relatives and I enjoyed this spot, which has a distant water view from the upstairs master bedroom deck. The photos made it look up-to-date, but in reality it looks built and furnished in the 80's-90's. The house is well-furnished, although some furniture is a little worn. The kitchen is small and needs some upgrading, both its utensils (sharp knives would be very helpful) and the "tired" cabinets. The house worked well for our group, which was not just couples. The location is convenient to Pt. Defiance, Gig Harbor and reasonably close to I-5. All in all a great choice!"
