Comfortable, spacious accommodation in easy reach of Tacoma and Seattle
"It is always difficult when booking accommodation to know how well it is going to suit. I need have had no concerns as it turned out, as the house was easily accessible to public transport for both Tacoma and Seattle. Also in a nice elevated position with extensive views over Tacoma and out to Mr Rainier (which managed to hide for most of the two weeks we were there). The elevated position does however mean that there is a steep flight of steps to reach the front door but there is much easier access to the rear door.
A drawback for anyone without a car is the distance to grocery stores/supermarkets. However, there is an excellent supermarket (Haggens) on Pacific and the No 1 bus will take you there and back and a 7-11 store on the No 3 bus route (bus stops are just outside the property). Fortunately for us, Kimberley picked us up from the airport bus and then took us to a supermarket, which was a tremendous help.
If I were in Tacoma again I would certainly stay here."

"This cozy cabin in the trees is the perfect place to connect with family and friends. It has a large farmhouse table that is perfect for family dinners, even when there is a partially completed jigsaw puzzle on the far end. It also is great table to play games on. The cabin has lots of windows, but stays cool as light is filtered through the trees, though you can get a bit of sun on the deck (with grill) and a lot at the beach. There are several beaches on the island which are all different in character and little forest trails, I always see different wildlife each visit. Kids might enjoy riding their bikes around the complex which has barely any car traffic. This cabin is best for leaving electronic devices behind but there is a stereo and TV for watching DVD's, but no cable and though internet reception is not good at the cabin, you can get it if you must at the clubhouse. The pool there is open during the summer which has a large separate shallow section for toddlers and hot tub!
In response to the other review, I have stayed at this cabin several times with just my spouse or with a group of friends and have never found the kitchen unclean. I think it is standard at some places for linens to be provided to make the bed so there is no question regarding clean linen. After a weekend unplugged here I feel relaxed and refreshed."

"The gentlemen before me was a little harsh in his review. We rented the home right after him and the golf cart was back in operational order. The dryer was still out, but that was not a problem. In fact that saved us from having to wash any pool towels. I was advised before we arrived that the dryer was not working and that the golf cart was having to be repaired. I communicated to the owners that it was a main selling point in choosing her home and she worked very hard in getting it repaired in time. There were no door issues, the light bulbs all worked and the telephone was in the closet. The master bed was amazing and we rested well and enjoyed the home very much. The only bummer for us was there was a burn ban on the island because of all the pnw fires. We would not hesitate to stay again. Thank you for sharing your lovely home and allowing us to bring our 2 dogs!"
