"My daughter and I stayed here after her surgery as we had to travel into the area from medical treatment. The home was perfect. Peaceful and restful. Everything you could need was there and then some. I recommend this home to all travelers. Kimberly is wonderful!"

"Our family of three spent a three-day weekend at this Harstine Island retreat and had a supremely enjoyable stay. The cabin is cozy and warm, centered around a large wooden table for family activities. The kitchen may not be granite and shiny, but it is totally what you expect in a woodsy island cabin. Our 15-year old daughter took over the loft area as her own space. A huge wrap-around deck and easy chairs provide outdoor spaces as well as a large comfy hammock slung between trees. We took walks to the beach nearby, hiked along the bluffs, and enjoyed the sunny beach out on the point. The view across Puget Sound is beautiful and relaxing. Sandwiched in-between a very busy trip to the Northwest in which we hiked and climbed far up Mt. Baker, Mt. Rainier and Mt. Hood, to the point of exhaustion, the island was a welcome retreat in which we were able to lay back and do very little as we wanted. One drawback is that there is no wi-fi in the cabin, however this was really an inconvenience as we simply timed our internet usage to our visits to the community center where the signal is strong. At the central building there is a large and inviting pool, (the photos at this site do not really do it justice, or the island or the cabin for that matter, and should be updated) large enough to swim laps in. The large and hot jacuzzi was also well used to soak our weary bones. This is a quiet spot, so if you are looking for a hub of activity or have a lot of restless teenagers who need to be tethered to their devices you might seek out a place closer to civilization, but I totally recommend it as a getaway when what you want to do is recuperate from our all-too-busy lives."

"Our family had such a wonderful time at the Inn at Arkada! Wayne and Joan have a perfect place for families to get together. We were so delighted to not only have plenty of room and comfort for our large group, but a beautiful setting, and the house was delightfully decorated for the holidays! Thank you so much for making our Christmas absolutely fabulous!!!!!"

"This home fit our family of 15 perfectly. There was plenty of space for everyone and the children really enjoyed the downstairs with the bunk area, air hockey and home theater. We would definitely stay here again!"
