"My fishing buddy (from Denver) and I spent 6 days in this cabin for our annual fishing trip. Last year was a week on the North Platte in Wyoming. While this did not equal the quality and quantity of fish caught in Wyoming, it excelled in cabin comfort and area excellence. The town is conveniently located, adequate eating establishments, interesting locations (Northwest Wildlife Center and Rainier NP), and numerous fishing lakes in the vicinity in addition to Tanwax. Our fishing effort did allow us to catch (and release) at least one of each species in Tanwax. Most of the bass were small and the trout were quite deep as the water was much warmer that I expected. I did manage to land an 11 inch trout on a large spinner lure while fishing for bass. The only fish that were not released were about 10 crappie which were our dinner guest one night. These were caught off the dock just after sunset.
An additional treat was observing the 2-3 eagles who apparently share a tree near the cabin. Their antics provided much entertainment while fishing or enjoying breakfast on the deck."

"Wonderful roomy house, clean and comfortable, perfect for our extended family's wedding pre-festivities. Super variety of kitchen equipment, even large pots, small appliances, baking equipment, coffee bean grinder, elec skillets, gas BBQ, etc. Great activities for families on site (games, play equipment, etc.). Shopping and restaurants are less than 5 minutes away. Only minus is that the house is very dark inside -- many light bulbs in the massive fixtures were burned out and the dark wood interior makes it difficult to do anything indoors on a cloudy day. Would suggest that you bring your own reading lamps, and flashlights for moving around after dark! Renting was carefree and agents provided detailed info before our stay, making it easy to plan what to bring. Would recommend for any large group needing a stay in the Shelton area."

"We stayed in Gig Harbor at this amazing property while visiting family in Tacoma. Once you drive up to the property, you will not want to leave. In fact, my husband, who never sits still, said, " I will be right here in this chair overlooking the bay and the view of the mountain all weekend!" And that's exactly what we all did. It was so relaxing. The house is very well stocked with all you need for cooking and bbq'ing with nice, top of the line equipment. The bedrooms are clean, with nice, soft linens and comfortable beds. The house sits directly on the water and when the tide is out, the beach is perfect for searching for shells and "treasures".
It is a bit of a drive from the freeway exit, but not too far and well, well worth it once you arrive. Only about a 7-10 minute drive to downtown gig harbor where there are Great restaurants, shops, kayak and paddle boar d rentals.
John was so easy to work with and extremely responsive.
We look forward to staying here again. It is a special property!"

"We booked the Manor 18 months ahead of arrival and were so excited for our family get away, but after hopping on this site for some info gathering for packing purposes, we saw a 2 star recent review that really freaked us out. I never write reviews but thought I had better jump on here and verify that if those things were true about broken this and that, they aren't any longer.
We were so relieved when we arrived, first thing the kids did was let out a yell and jump in the awesome pool. We were holding our breath because the outside looked great but what were we going to find on the inside?!
We found a lovely farm house with ample room for the entire family (15 of us), the beds were new and really comfortable, mostly pillow top and one memory foam, twin bed had older firm mattresses but the kids didn't care, that's what they have at home lol. No ants, no broken door knobs, no lumpy beds, no broken gate, clearly a well taken care of property. While we were there, a gardner came, pool maintenance came at 10 right before we checked out and he asked if it was a good time to clean, which we appreciated but we were checking out so it was fine. We were really sad to only get one day at the Manor but we were just in town for a wedding and didn't realize how much fun and how much there was to do there. Olympia is a cool town, too, and we have already booked 4 days next July at the Manor. The pictures do it justice, there was no disappointment, and we really just can't say enough about how accommodating the property was and how great Misty was to deal with. The entire family is excited for next summer."
