"Mt husband and I rented this home with our 4 young children (ages 1-9) and we absolutely loved it. I grew up just a few houses down so I had a specific criteria for a rental in Gig Harbor and this home exceeded our expectations. We ate most meals on the back porch and enjoyed having family and friends over because of the ample entertaining space. We rented the cottage for my mom to stay in so it was a perfect set up.
The kitchen is very well stocked and the gas grill was perfect for grilling oysters Rockefeller from the oysters we picked up in front of the house!
The beds are not very comfortable, but we were so tired after full days of activity that it wasn't a big deal.
It was also a great location to use as a base for exploring surrounding attractions-we drove to Mt Ranier and Quinalt Rainforest.
The town of Gig Harbor is beautiful and quaint."

"We are four girlfriends (all 60+) of 50 years who travel together once or twice a year; this Day Island Cottage by the water was absolutely marvelous for our needs: great view out a huge picture window overlooking the sound and the Olympic Mountains, spotlessly clean, great kitchen with all appliances and gadgets, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The very gracious owner was there when we arrived with a plate of freshly baked cookies and a smile - she was very helpful with information.
We had a car to visit local attractions and we rode the ferry from Bremerton to Seattle, but the neighborhood is very secure and ideal for strolling in the evenings. We were fortunate to have extraordinary weather while there and used the outdoor table and chairs for our evening cocktails at sunset and watched the seals and geese and boats pass by - lovely.
The only concern for older travelers or families with very young children, is the spiral staircase which is the only access to the third bedroom and there is no bathroom. But, for older children who are more fearless and flexible it would be an ideal quiet place for them to hang-out and/or play.
I highly recommend this property and my girlfriends all agreed that we would be back!!"

"The Bungalow is a great spot for 2 people! We stayed on 4th of July weekend, and were very satisfied with the accommodations. The grounds outside are truly special as there is a water feature you can float in, horseshoes, a garden, etc. Everything is maintained perfectly. The surrounding areas aren't the most picturesque, but you are so removed inside these private grounds that you don't even notice. The only caveat is that in the summer months it can get a little warm. Adding some screen doors to get the air circulating inside would be my only suggestion. Other than that, I would highly recommend Gerry and the Bungalow!"
